Exhaust tip rectification

My R exhaust tips were polished to death by the first owner and a few places are showing a pale gold coloured plating underneath the chrome. Now the tips are looking tired but I daren't polish them much. I think these standard tips are welded on? Is there a good fix for this? Replacements or treatments? I wouldn't mind a black wrap or something?

I’ve seen black afterburner tips for sale on the Paramount website, I’ll be going a darker colour when I put a Quicksilver on

Don't bother with a quicksilver you have to use a app to control the valves
The supersprint is the best sounding and uses factory vac lines

I wasn't thinking of changing the whole box, just what to do about imperfect tips? Black sleeves could work but I haven't spotted any specific to my car yet.

I would go to a custom exhaust centre (the sort who make up systems from components for custom car applications). They will be able to remove the tips (grind/cut off) and weld/fit new ones to your choice very easily
Most likely in situ with partial lowering of exhaust and a choice of size, colour/finish, etc.
Used a company in West Midlands (https://www.mijexhaust.com/ ) for a very similar job on a Z4, but likely too far from you
Google map search should show you some possibles within a reasonable drive

Not sure these will be to everyone’s taste, but it’s an option
