What have you done to your F Type today?

Put £110.00 worth of fuel in the car

I save money by filling up when the tank gets down to about the half full mark - ir's cheaper that way!

Visited LR Chip to get my retro fitted climate seats activated. During the 200 mile journey, probably due to the near constant 50 mph roadworks, my car hit 45.9mpg.

Once I got into the high 40’s I was determined to get there 😬

…too boring to do more than once though - Italian tune up followed 😂

It's pretty easy to get impressive mileage stats out of any modern car on a long stretch of motorway at a constant lowish speed over a chosen distance.
On the old XF's we set the 60:60:60 challenge of 60 miles distance, MPH average and MPG as the benchmark test. Even on the old 3l twin turbo diesel 6 speed box it was easy. Once they fitted 8 speed boxes higher was not difficult

As Lunar says though - too boring

Very boring, but that's driving on motorways in the UK at minute. Near constant 50mph limits for endless miles of roadworks with zero work being done 🤣

How the hell do you get 50mpg average?

I got 40 ISH on a motorway run from Newcastle down to Leeds while Christmas shopping, driving carefully and around the limit. I thought that was an achievement.

I don't seem to be getting that those days, must be giving in to right foot temptation too much.

Re the 50mph motorway limits, bloomin hell yes, how annoying are they? We came north onto the M1 from the M42 a few weeks back and most of the way home was plagued by restrictions. Energy vampires the lot of them!

yep .... done that

must admit do that every time I open the garage door to take the gas / electric meter readings

Completed the 1st half of the trip in France to Provence via Annecy comprising 3 Jaguars and 2 Aston Martins.
Great roads but weather is mixed unfortunately!

Got a little 10kg package from the German company Reckhorn yesterday, spent most of last night in the garage and finshed today. Added insulation in the doors and also some in the boot. The main point was to improve the conditions for the sound system and eliminate a little buzz in my new driver's door. Since I had the material I also looked into reducing NVH resonance in the mid/back of the car but without overdoing it to not risk eliminating too much of that glorious exhaust noise.

A decent layer of resonance reducing ABX alubutyl on the inside of the door skins and a few more areas plus covered most of the door cards with sound absorbing/decoupling 10 mm DV-10i. Waiting for the weather to improve before a proper road test but initial sound tests are very positive.

The Reckhorn ABX seems to be a very good German alternative to Dynamats and was super easy to work with. Many thanks to ralphr1780 for the tip about Reckhorn.

Woah that's pretty neat 😲 Do you have a link to the head unit? Been looking to get one for my MY16...

Do all the steering wheel buttons function correctly? I've seen posts elsewhere that say some don't.

All the steering wheel buttons work and I didn’t have to mess around with the settings for that.
It comes with its own mic so think you lose the original mic functionality but not sure as you can still pair your phone with the original Jaguar system if you want.

I’m a 2014 and all seems to work pretty well so far.

A lot of settings to mess around with and apple car play seems to work well so far but only been using it a week.
Instructions are really bad but seller sent me videos which helped a lot.

It’s the seller Witson on AliExpress. They have been seedlings these types of head units for years I think.

This is the one I bought. Went for the Bosch 4gb ram one

I use original jag system for DAB and android system for car play.

All android audio including car play goes through aux on the original jag system so audio source needs to be changed to aux on jag system to get audio from android head unit.
Can just hit mode button on steering wheel to switch between audio if needed
