Phone Holders and gadgets!

I have seen some older threads about phone holders. Anyone have any more recent suggestions - I would to have the phone on display to me rather than in the cup holder sideways at the moment.

Also, anyone seen any decent gadgets to use in the cigarette lighter socket? I could do with a powerful phone charger but theres some proper interesting ones too with lights / readouts / displays on. Wondered if any of you have anything gucci like this in your jag!?

I use this phone holder, keeps my phone at just the right angle and isn’t in the way. It also has loads of adjustment so when I change my phone I won’t need a new holder. It is lined so won’t damage the leather. Came from an individual on Facebook called George Hutchinson I think, who 3D printed them. He does newer ones now with magnetic holders which look a bit cleaner when you don’t have a phone on the mount.

Without looking tacky when the phone is removed try a SCOSCHE. Sticks like muck to a blanket and doesn't look out of place or tacky like most phone holders do.

I use the above to hold my second (phone) dashboard readout for important stuff: car oil level & temp, charge cooler temp, diff oil temp etc etc.

The mobile talky phone gets the 👢!

Got this in mine but no idea who makes or supplies it.
Was in the car when I bought it.
Works well though.

I use the Torque Pro App full version. That's combined with and OBDLink Bluetooth version.

With custom PID's it gives pretty much all data that the ECU sees...battery voltage on the Can bus as well as other voltages are available if that's what you need.

At the moment my phone is used exclusively to display similar to this:

The lighter socket can be used for a traffic clearing gadget .......

Tel, I have this app (pro with video option), never dared to use it in my FT due to the 'flat battery' problem.
I even harassed JLR to find out for me if/what OBD adapter would not give a problem, but they wouldn't !

I was furious since the link with the GoPro action cam - RERUN- did not function as they advertised :

The app was briefly in the playstore, a bit longer for Iphone. But GoPro almost went under and pulled the funding, JLR had invested millions - marketing- , that apparently almost nobody picked up but me..

The commercial says it all, so I was REALLY pissed-off when it didn't become available.

Maybe they had a patent infringement with Torque ....

Dan. Once you finish your session or drive, just whip the +ve lead off the battery for a few seconds and reconnect it and check when the vehicle is alarmed/armed that the warning triangle on the dash goes out after a few minutes - that's it.

I have worked with OBD manufacturers in USA to work round the 'hanging' issue we have with the CAN bus, but couldn't resolve it.

Shame about the link with the video, I would be annoyed too if the feature was unavailable as I remember some of the pre-release coverage looking really good.

That is a rather essential detail one needs to know.. 8-)

When I'm touring the Alps - with a trunk full -, I can not see me do this for lunch or even after a days drive.. .. bound to forget this (age thing..)

Or even cheaper

Just bought this as thought although not designed for it would fit sideways the grab handle.
Fits both sides and just clips on without putting pressure on the soft leather. Personally prefer it on the passenger side to keep controls clear
Not bad for £3.99 delivered, thoughts?

Nice kit !

Only it doesn't provide power.

I plug into cubby usb as need it for CarPlay anyway so charges through that
Be handy if old fashioned dash cigarette socket is replaced with the new usb c.
Looking forward there should be USB’s by rear view mirrors for dash cams.
