Tyre valve dust caps

Any idea where replacement dust caps can be bought from ? I've got the original metal jag ones on black alloys but my first tyre pressure check has revealed a couple are split .

Get plastic so they wont rust, try ebay

Agreed, dump the metal caps if the car is subject to the elements they can react, corrode and bind to the valve thread. Plenty of plastic caps on Amazon, cheap and much safer.

Those are the ones to get. Plastic so no risk of corrosion and durable. I have a set of those that I've been using for more than ten years now.

My car came with the Jaguar tyre dust caps. As previously said, they bind to the thread and can be very difficult to unscrew, even though I put grease on the threads. I had to have one wheel removed and the valve cut out and a new valve fitted. I went to my local tyre shop and they gave me four standard plastic caps. I threw the Jaguar caps away - useless.

I certainly use plastic caps on my winter wheels, but since I check tyre pressures every 7-10 days with a calibrated dial gauge I’ve never had an issue with a summer aluminium cap getting stuck - a dab of Vaseline and not doing them up tight helps of course.

The ones I purchases are Aluminium not plastic.

They really need vaseline or grease on them or they will get stuck.

My daughter had some on her Mazda and one was completely stuck. Even after slicing it in half vertically using a junior hacksaw blade, one half remained welded to the threads and needed to be prized off. Horrible things! Galvanitic corrosion is amazingly strong.

On my XE a metal one fused to the tyre valve and I ended up buying a new tyre. Just use the black plastic as the pressure monitor works perfectly with them. I also had a few sets removed in carparks!
