Jaguar introduces new logo for the brand

Delete ordinary, break moulds, erase your past so they don't link your new EV to the iPace 😂

Wonder how many are making secret inquiries about selling their F Types since the rebrand ?

I know there are folks who are betting on a medium to longer term rebound in values as supply dries up. That's fair enough.

But I sold my 2018 to a dealer two months ago and it's still there and they have dropped it's price by £2,700 since originally listing...with decreases accelerating since this 'rebrand'.

I do think that the culture that the new branding is attached to is so diametrically opposed to what it was that to some it will find it quite toxic to Jaguar ownership.

To me this is the real kick in the gut for legacy Jaguar owners.

That could be unrelated, dealers often reduce as they approach around 8 weeks, probably due to financing and targets. When I bought mine they had just reduced it by 2k as a previous sale had fallen through so they'd had it for 2 months.

@Duvetday the fact you're lurking in the background and tracking your car sale seems to me that you're still in love with the Jag and I don't blame you. It was hard to move on when I traded my teenager dream car for the F-type.

I never bought the F-type as an investment but as it's a 2018 model year, it will all but stop dropping in value. And I'm of the opinion the rebrand will help as the world's been talking about Jaguar and the F-type is shown as the pinnacle of modern Jag design even in parody videos.

Ours are the last true Jaguar cars and that might clmmand a premium in a few years and as long as we continue to enjoy acess to a network of specialist garages and enthusiasts.

I picked up a high-profile defence attachè from a foreign country this week with my F-type who was visiting our company. He was absolutely stunned by being on an F-type for the first time. He loved the experience, took lots of photos and asked me to photograph him next to the car as well.

I've also driven past a few young people this week who stopped talking just to stare at and appreciate the F-type. So I think the magic is far from over. It can't be deleted as it was never ordinary.

Ha Ha...lurking. :D :D

Yep I'll give you that. I'm definitely lurking around watching the price drop but just because it gives a little satisfaction that gougy dealers sometimes lose.

I do miss the F Type a bit, but sold it for different reasons..mainly that things like headlamps costing £3.5k are considered perishable items after 3 years. Otherwise I would probably have kept the car for life and not given a damn about it's value.

Anyway, change is as good as a rest.

Maybe the rebranding is not a factor in used prices. But, I don't know about you, but my friends and family have a new hobby of sending me links to stuff suggesting Jaguars and their owners are effeminate !

Most will laugh this off...but I do wonder if it will deter some used buyers.

I'll still be proud to drive a proper, authentic Jag that looks fantastic no matter what.
New Coke didn't last long, did it? Sadly there'll be no going back to Jaguar Classic.
Not long now till we see the new concept car, then we'll have a another flurry of posts here!

Quite right! I didn't buy mine as an investment, nor even because it was a Jaguar. I see it as one of the best-looking cars on the road, which drives just as well. Have to confess the rarity is an attraction too, and the fact that my dad had a Jaguar and Daimler Double Six at different times allows me to believe that he'd approve of me spending my inheritance on it :D
It is an F-Type first, Jaguar second. Hoping (against hope), that Jaguar are pulling off a fantastic publicity campaign and that I'll be coveting the new models when they arrive. But I'm happy to be able to drive, and just look at, my car, as long as I can still get it maintained competently and can manage to get myself in and out of it without assistance

Overall I think all this 'noise' will be good for those who currently own a Jaguar. Whatever happens the F Type is a cracking car and whether it appreciates in value or not, you cannot take away any of the appeal of owning and driving one.

I remember the outrage from some quarters when Jaguar started putting diesel engines in their cars. I admit I was one who was a bit of a sceptic but a few years later I ended up owning an S-Type 3 litre diesel in 2010. Probably one of the best cars I've ever owned.

Things change and life moves on. I hope the electric Jaguars of the future do well but I doubt they will be on my wish list (not least because of the price). I am not anti electric vehicle by any means (we have one on the drive right now) but it's a very different proposition to the F Type which is more of a weekend car for me.

Meanwhile it looks like JLR forgot to cc TWR in the email who launched their XJS in the last few days.

He's gone for an rather inappropriate supercharged 5.6-litre 12-cylinder unit with 660bhp and 730Nm of torque

It's all gone quiet. No further images posted by Jaguar since 21st Nov. No updates on their website. Nothing to my inbox.

The brand launch is Monday. Anyone found out whether you can watch it live online?

One of my work connections is a director at JLR. The reaction to the rebrand caused massive chaos internally and as of Wednesday, nobody knew if there will be a car ready for the reveal on Monday in Miami...

Not showing up for own brand reveal. That certainly follows the "copy nothing" idea well.

Another sobering article on the state of affairs for EVs based on latest global data and released yesterday. The article seems available to non-subscribers like myself.

A car company with no cars. You can't get much more delete ordinary than that.

Several critics pointed out there wasn't a single car to be seen in the video... so at least their advertising was accurate!

Reminiscent of the 'Branding' task in The Apprentice; some pathetic advert with no mention of the product leading to many firings by Sir Lord Alan of Fructose

Be interesting to see what is revealed but for me a £100k plus EV will never be on my shopping list.

I'm not anti EV (have one now and had one before that) but it's a very different experience from the F Type.

Don't think we'll see much on the new concept car tomorrow as it's not revealed until 8pm EST at Miami Art. That puts it at 1am Tuesday GMT.
JLR has a placeholder in their website for Tuesday 3rd, so I'm guessing they'll upload something then and also release press embargo on it.

Have you got a link for this? Searched and can find nothing.
