Finally pushed the button on a P450

Hi all,
I've had my 2020 5.0 V8 for a few months now - I've been meaning to sign up and say hello sooner, but I think I still qualify as a new owner...

I'm new to F-Types and new to Jaguar too for that matter, having had a mix of cars, including classic Fords, a very early Octavia VRS and a load of sensible stuff, most recently a Merc C250 estate.

I've always had a thing for big coupes. The first car I ever bought was a rusty Capri 2.0s (for a mere £100 in the late 90s when nobody wanted them!)

So I decided to treat myself for my 40th. I also fancied something with a V8, before they're legislated into extinction.

I initially had my heart set on a 4.7 Aston Martin V8 Vantage. But the budget I had wouldn't have got me beyond about a 2013/14 model and potential repair and servicing costs were concerning.

I'd also considered a V8 Mustang or a C63 AMG. But the F-Type seemed exactly what I wanted - beautiful and poised but raucous and fun.

So I found this one-owner 2020 P450, which is finished in Sanguinello from the SVO premium colour palette. It's a hard colour to photograph as it flips from dark red to almost a deep metalic copper depending on the light. But I haven't seen many like it and I love it.

It's sort of my daily driver, so it's getting used and pampered in equal measure at the moment. I adore the visceral character of the engine. It's just got soul. And the same can't be said of many other modern cars.

Anyway, as you can probably tell I'm having a great time as a new owner and have already done a few longer trips.

I'd like to get along to a few meet ups in the Yorkshire area this spring/summer so I'll be keeping an eye on what's going on.

Hope everyone else is looking forward to some better weather and some good motoring months ahead.

Welcome aboard.

Looks like you went through a similar search to most, starting at Aston and ending at the far superior in every way except price Jaaaaag.
Love that colour as well. You can see the lighting colour change in the picture from the dark deep red at the front to the brighter copper at the back. Great choice and glad to hear you are enjoying it (looks like the passenger is as well).

Welcome to the club. I'm relatively new myself but absolutely loving my new (to me) F Type, especially as the nicer weather is allowing me to lower the roof for that wind in the hair experience.

Stunning colour yours is.

I had a budget of around 100k and settled on a 2 year old p450… no way do I think I’m slumming it over an ASTON DB11, Vantage, 911 or Bentley. These cars are amazing value…

Welcome to the gang! You did right not going for the Aston, it's just a rich man's Jaaaag - only the badge is better!

Welcome from the 'Rural Principality of Lincolnshire'!

I am also a relatively new member to the fold as I only acquired my 2016 R last week - but it has-been a bit of a 'whirlwind romance' ever since!

I also looked at the Aston Martin's, (and I must also confess to passing a cursory glance over a few Bentley's too), but the potential servicing costs were somewhat prohibitive - not to mention the additional costs if anything goes wrong!

The F-Type really does have a very commanding kerbside presence, (which is only further enhanced when on the move), that few other cars can aspire to and then there is the performance!

Mine has been out everyday - whenever the roads are dry!

Enjoy your new family member!

Regards,

Martin.

Great colour Sam, I’m also new to Jaguar having owned mine since October last year and my first coupe was also a Ford Capri but that was in the err… 70’s. Enjoy the experience. 👍

Welcome Sam
Very nice looking F Type and love the colour. It's the first time I've seen a facelift which I like as much as the original.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone - much appreciated.

It's great to find an enthusiastic network of other owners - it definitely adds to the F-Type ownership experience.

And who wouldn't be enthusiastic about owning an F-Type?! I'm enjoying it so much I'm actually glad I didn't buy an Aston 😄

IMG_4343.JPGHi Everyone,

Hope i Posted in the Right Place ?
I have been living and Working In China for the last 15 Years, and have had a 2016 Evoque for 5 Years and Then a Discovery Sport R dynamic which were both reliable enjoyable and serviced at a dealer for a reasonable Cost. I have always loved jaguars and especially the F Type of which there are not too many in China.
So anyway decided to buy a good second hand Car and Opted for a P340 MY19. I picked it up and drove it 1 hour home and didn't stop smiling. Best decision i ever made. Here Porsche's and Mercedes are everywhere, so my car is a real head turner. Looking forward to adding some upgrades. Parts are readily available and cheaper than Europe.
