Hi all,
I've had my 2020 5.0 V8 for a few months now - I've been meaning to sign up and say hello sooner, but I think I still qualify as a new owner...
I'm new to F-Types and new to Jaguar too for that matter, having had a mix of cars, including classic Fords, a very early Octavia VRS and a load of sensible stuff, most recently a Merc C250 estate.
I've always had a thing for big coupes. The first car I ever bought was a rusty Capri 2.0s (for a mere £100 in the late 90s when nobody wanted them!)
So I decided to treat myself for my 40th. I also fancied something with a V8, before they're legislated into extinction.
I initially had my heart set on a 4.7 Aston Martin V8 Vantage. But the budget I had wouldn't have got me beyond about a 2013/14 model and potential repair and servicing costs were concerning.
I'd also considered a V8 Mustang or a C63 AMG. But the F-Type seemed exactly what I wanted - beautiful and poised but raucous and fun.
So I found this one-owner 2020 P450, which is finished in Sanguinello from the SVO premium colour palette. It's a hard colour to photograph as it flips from dark red to almost a deep metalic copper depending on the light. But I haven't seen many like it and I love it.
It's sort of my daily driver, so it's getting used and pampered in equal measure at the moment. I adore the visceral character of the engine. It's just got soul. And the same can't be said of many other modern cars.
Anyway, as you can probably tell I'm having a great time as a new owner and have already done a few longer trips.
I'd like to get along to a few meet ups in the Yorkshire area this spring/summer so I'll be keeping an eye on what's going on.
Hope everyone else is looking forward to some better weather and some good motoring months ahead.
