According to the BBC's Great British Class Calculator (link below) I am in what's called the "Elite". Basically it's all complete bullshit if that is anything to go by.

It really depends on your definition of class though I guess. Are we talking financial, cultural, the way you act and conduct yourself in public? All of the above?
I'm from a working class background (Dad worked shift as engineering maintenance at a factory and Mum was a cleaner). I was heading down a similarish path doing an engineering apprenticeship, but I went on to do a degree and have moved onwards and upwards. I'm not management but I'd say I'm in an equivalent technical role. My wife on the other hand was raised firmly in the upper class going to private school, riding horses, had a tennis coach, private tutors, summers in Italy etc etc. I'd say I've dragged her down from upper and she's pulled me up from lower and we met in the middle. I like to think that because of where I came from vs my job and being around my wife and her family I've developed a bit of a Chameleon approach where I can turn it on and off depending on who I'm with.
