What is this patch?

Noticed this weird patch on my car. Anyone else got this?

It helps protect the bodywork in that area from road debris e.g. stone chips etc.

Also have them on my car.

You notice these more on darker cars.

It's a puncture repair patch put on at manufacture. If the car fails the float test, patches are out on to ensure it holds air.

Don't whatever you do peel it off... It let's all the air out!

Airbags are less effective, and the body loses its curvecous lines.

Got 'em on mine, too. Sadly, being white, they're gone a bit yellowish over time. That doesn't slow the car down, though, so not important!

Motorcyclists use it all the time on their tanks to stop leathers/knee slides marking the tank. I will find out the name.

Mine are a bit yellow on white car..

Got 'em on mine, too. Sadly, being white, they're gone a bit yellowish over time. That doesn't slow the car down, though, so not important!

Mine’s also the same but due to their location it’s not really noticeable and has never bothered me.

Definitely doesn’t slow the car down!
