What have you done to your F Type today?

A wash and a quick 'shake the water off' drive. Stopped on the downs to catch the evening rays.

I changed the oil today, and through this forum learned to hit the cancel button two times yo get the oil level to show again. Loving the car thus far, had it for two months now, and decided to change the oil, as I don't know for certain when it was last changed or type that was put in it, so I went with the recommended Castrol 0w20 listed on the cap and new filter, and "Beast" (What I named this car) rides real smooth.

20250531_133404.jpgFirst leg of a European tour complete without a hitch despite attracting the attention of some seagulls keen to leave a deposit at the Eurotunnel terminal and getting little sleep as PSG fans tried to execute doughnuts in the main square in Peugeot 306's until 1am.A few others are to join the tour after we leave Vernon shortly.

Spent a couple of hours at the Le Mans museum as they prepared for the main event this month.

Just did a week in the Austrian alps including some epic early morning blasting up and down Grossglockner, and treated the car to a stay at Motorworld in Munich on the way home today.

The alps look great.

I had a first today, after not charging the car for about 4 or 5 months and mostly only driving it a short way once or twice a week (longer drive once a month ish), I was feeling very smug about how much better the battery is than I expected.

Today when shopping I realised I'd left the car and not quit torquepro, got back to the car 3 hours later and it started but with a scary number of error messages - thank goodness I knew from this forum that battery would be the cause.

Drove home for 30mins and on restart all was ok but hazard stayed on. Disconnected battery for 2 mins then put on ctek and all now ok. Thanks again to the forum

Took it to the Jaguar Breakfast Club meet at The Great British Car Journey in Ambergate, Derbyshire

Renewed my insurance with Saga. Renewal quote was £516 (£391 previous year). I called them as I had to add on a 3 points speeding fine, and was expecting to cancel, and bizarrely they then dropped the price to £440. Pretty pleased with that as Compare the Market was coming back with £460 for Tesco Silver as the lowest comparable offer.

Moral of the story I guess is never accept a renewal quote, always call and haggle!

Had my first drive of this car in North Wales. The V6 sung and the sun shone. What a machine……..

Had both door glass and aperture seals replaced under Jaguar Goodwill. The car was several months out of warranty when I noticed some score marks appearing first on the offside and later the nearside. It was approved by Jaguar very promptly but took over nine months for the glass to arrive. As it is cosmetic no problem with the wait and the dealer kept me fully informed. I was surprised to have the problem as I always believed it was common with earlier cars and a new seal was developed that resolved the problem ( mine is MY21). The service department hadn’t seen or done one before now but they advised me that they had another booked in for an offside glass replacement same day and that was a MY 23 car. Guessing/hoping it may have been some of the earlier seals got into the production system and used in error 😏

Had a proper calipers paint job and clean up ready for a nice drive to the Cotswolds for a long weekend. Starts tonight at Blenheim Palace to see Richard Ashcroft 👌

Fitted a Viezu Paramount cols air filter kit today.

At first I fitted the intake Viezu pipe work to the standard air filter boxes just for interest and went for a test drive. The results were just normal as using the original pipe work. I then replaced the standard air boxes and fitted the Viezu supplied cone filters. The results were far better with a supercharger noise and from approx 3k rpm. Also noticed when I had Pirelli rear tyres fitted it use to spin the rears when turning right from road junctions then I went for Michelin PS4 tyres and the spining stopped. Since fitting the Viezu air kit the rears are spinning again. Viezu quote up to extra 20bhp but its certainly gained something. It would be interesting just to replace the standard air filters and fit cone filters to the standard Jag intake pipe work.

I love it when that happens.
The missus can't go to a garden centre without buying a load of plants leaking soil out their pots. So I take the old Ford!

Had a bimble out to a garden centre. Saw another F Type so had to park next to it 😂
Perfect combination of coupe / convertible. Lucky to find two adjacent end of row spaces 😎
Two very special cars in close proximity.
