Bunny, looks fab. JR aren't too far from me and I've long heard of the name. One key thing about this could be that 24hrs given to dry it out in the low heat oven as I'd imagine coating a car with protective stuff when it's too moist might just trap that moisture.
I might just give them a call!

Finally picked up my aluminium gear shift paddles from the garage ordered in January arrived about three weeks ago. Fitted them myself although those T20 torx screws were tight!

Much better than the plastic ones, aren't they? That was some incredibly long delivery time.
 
Gave the car another proper Italian tuneup on some local twisties this evening because it didn't get one for a while. Spent the other week down on the Riviera and did Route Napoleon and loads of other Alpine roads on the way home but had the better half in the passenger seat and boot chock full of luggage so never really got the chance to let it sing and dance properly until tonight. Again, what a joy these cars are both when driven in GT cruise mode and in Italian tuneup mode. :D

Gave them a good testing this morning much nicer feel than the plastic ones, think they must have been on a slow boat from Solihull to Brugge 😀

Yeah, JLR have had some massive problems and crazy delays with parts deliveries since they centralised some of their storage facilities. I thought they had sorted that out but perhaps not considering your delivery time. Well worth the wait I hope. :)
 
Refitted the plastic chin spoiler under the front of the car which had popped off its clips - required immense mechanical expertise of course ;-)

No, as I said, he cleans the underside, removes all loose surface rust with a wire wheel in an angle grinder, needle gun, scrapers and sanders, then covers it with rust prevention paint before applying Dynitrol.
 
Replaced the standard puddle lights with Jaguar logo lights and also changed the footwell lights for 8000K LED’s.

Gave it a much needed wash after a weekend of lots of nice driving and cosied up in the garage for some Sunday evening detailing. Went shopping in France and Germany yesterday so had the pleasure of doing both some French autoroutes and German Autobahns. Haven't had to deal with insect splatter for quite some time now and thought that the fly season was over but apparently it isn't at 250 km/h on the Autobahn. :D

While cleaning under the spoiler I remembered that I wanted to ask about these little felt pads under the lip of the coupé spoiler. One of mine fell off years ago and then I also removed the other one quite some time ago. It just seemed to soak up water and I kept catching it when drying under the spoiler. There's clearly space between the spoiler and the body and there are no signs of the spoiler ever rubbing against the body so what's the point of these pads? Extra safety in case the spoiler for some reason gets misaligned and starts touching the body?

Looks great. I’ve already done exactly this to mine too. A really easy and cheap but really effective DIY mod. They should be like this from the factory IMO!
 
A rinseless wash and a nice Sunday afternoon drive on dry country roads! Perfect way to end the weekend!

Silly question - what's a rinseless wash?

Not silly at all. Rinseless wash is the process that involves rinsing the car, soaking with a cleansing agent and using the same solution for the contact cleaning with a special type of sponge then drying the car without a final rinse.

It uses a lot less water and it's arguably the safest way of cleaning the bodywork without scratching it. It's mostly recommended for a "maintenance wash", when the car is not so dirty and it's already protected with a wax, sealant or coating.
