What have you done to your F Type today?

About 50 spirited miles return in Dynamic mode gets mine a bit dirty so I just wipe them down

Ha! Glad to know I'm not the only one 😁 I usually wipe the pipes every 50 miles or every 3rd drive when I see the soot building up.
After seeing some forum posts about the struggles of cleaning the baked on exhaust particulates, a quick 30 second wipe-down seems like a no-brainer!

Nice DOC IW! North Devon or South Devon?
I've long wanted to take mine to the South Hams, for a nice little trip on the coastal road through Torcross. Our other car has been clipped that many times by bad driving down there, on the narrow parts, that it does put me off a bit!
I often pass a nice F Type convertible that lives not too far from Blackpool Sands - shout out to that person if they're on here!

Yeah, don’t go mad with the Autoglym, but a spot of WD40 helps to keep them easy to clean.

My wife has some kind of citrus and white clay paste in a tub in the kitchen. She uses it to clean ceramics, quartz tops, tiles, the steel cooker etc. seems it's a really mild abrasive and acid.
I nabbed a miniscule bit, just once, and it worked wonders in seconds on the V6 pipes. It saves me from buying fancy metal polishing compounds, or from losing them in the mess that I call a garage.

Do be careful with abrasives. My previous owner/dealer must have gone mad with it so I can see some copper colour peeking through here and there.

Mrs W and I went to Teignmouth, South Devon. Lovely!

We visit South Devon quite a few times a year and often pay Teignmouth a visit.
The B3192, while not quite being a thrilling route, is a nice climb up out of Teignmouth to the main road.

Yep, I dutifully made a right din going up there as we headed home! 🤣

New rear tyres on order for Tuesday fit. The rears have worn about 1.5mm more on the inside than the outside. Is this typical or is it worth getting an alignment check? If so, are amost tyre shops capable of adjusting F-types' alignment properly, or should I aim for a Jag specialist?

Any decent tyre shop should be able to do it but Mike Allen Services have all the necessary wheel alignment equipment so if I was in Swindon that’s where I would head.

Yes, I'm thinking along those lines once the new tyres are on. Mike Allen have looked after my cars for many years, they do know what they're doing.

Nice run out around Kent and East Sussex with the Drivers Fanatics today in fairly decent weather and a nice mix of cars. Also spotted a lovely SVR coming up Bluebell Hill this afternoon with a great number plate.Wonder if they are on the forum?

I wouldn’t take the F-Type to a Kwik Fit, but I have found Pro-Tyre in Taunton to be very professional when it comes to tyres and alignment. For tyres, I have used Pro-Tyre for my FType and my wife’s Audi S4 and they’ve always done a good job and appreciate that these are performance cars and treat them accordingly. Of course Jag dealerships and Jag specialists should also be excellent.

I can recommend Chris and Pete at Centre Gravity in Atherstone near Tamworth. Exceptional service. They have honed many cars for me over the years and are the most enthusiastic car nuts I have ever met. They take the car out with you and demonstrate what is happening, ask what you want and explain fully the implications and rewards of doing it this way or that way. They test the shocks and inspect the underside of the car, tyres etc. Quite apart from the service you get some really hands on visual pointers. Well worth it.

If you are fitting with Pirelli tyres you can book an alignment at the Pirelli Performance Centre at Burton. (The only Pirelli centre in the UK if close to you).

Been a few months since I had my undercarriage treated. Here are some of the pictures before and after treatment. The work was undertaken by JR Classics in Doncaster. He washes the underside fully, gives it 24 hrs to dry helped by sticking it in a low heat oven, then gets a grinder on the underside to remove all loose surface rust, the treats it with a rust inhibitor, then in my case, treated it with Dynitrol. Five days work. Prefect protection. Well pleased.
