What have you done to your F Type today?

Hope you all don’t mind but I thought I would start a “What have you done…” thread similar to the one on Boxa.net below - I have moved from a Boxster 981S to an F Type convertible and I really enjoyed this long running thread of stories and updates on daily fettling!

https://www.boxa.net/topic/84647-what-have-you-done-to-your-981-today/

I’ll get the ball rolling - I had my F Type returned to me from Stratstone Nottingham this week after it needed a new catalytic converter and back box - all paid for by Stratstone as I flagged the issues within 30 days of ownership. I had a Range Rover Velar courtesy car for 2 weeks and missed the F Type so much. Great to have it back!

Nothing. But I washed it yesterday and, by the time I got home after just 20 miles, it was dirtier than before I washed it.

Good idea, Madlil. We had this thread on the TT UK forum and it was both popular and helpful.

I fitted this footrest that I found out about on the U.S F-type forum. It finishes off the driver's footwell, it's good quality and easy to clean. It uses 3 self tapping screws supplied as standard.

Drove it to Jaguar Breakfast Club at The Great British Car Journey. Met some lovely owners & drove it home.

Nice idea for a thread 👍🏻

I have black interior with contrast double red stitch, but only on the seats and door arm rest. I'm adding the missing parts based on where it's used on the P400 / Chequered Flag.

Good thread, thanks for starting.
Busy on my SVR 4th year maintenance, did this morning: engine oil + filter, cabin air filter, brake oil. Now on to rear diff oil change, definitely a more difficult job than on the V6.

Didn't touch it today but e-mailed the local dealer to get an appointment for a new door after a rather odd little freak event last night.

Had to drive in to town last night and after I had parked up along a quiet empty street I opened the door a bit and just heard a loud BANG while another car drove by. Apparently the other car managed to catch the edge of my door but didn't notice or care and just drove off. No big deal but certainly won't buff out. Considering that it's stiff aluminium I presume a new door panel is in the cards.

Had all four tyres swapped out for new Michelin PS4S. Tight dealer put Triangle tyres on the front (I’d never heard of) and the rears were Pirelli’s with tread but I just wanted them gone. Much happier now

Absolutely nothing! Been jet washing the patio out back getting ready for summer, it is coming! 🤞Now thinking about the JBC Supercharged Saturday event on 18th May and when I’ll find time for a polish!

Ouch that's nasty. Hopefully just a new skin and respray.
You probably got of light as I'd guess if the other driver had stopped you could have had any damage to the their car to pay for too.

Yeah, expecting a new skin. Could definitely have been worse. Fortunately all just an insurance matter. I just recently thought to myself that I've had surprisingly few insurance claims with the F-Type so far compared to previous Jags where I just had less luck... people driving into the cars while parked up, full car hail storm damage, numerous wind screens etc. :) Insurance is crazy expensive around here, we're talking thousands, but at least it always delivers without any fuss and without any excess or premium bumps.

ignored it completely and instead took this to italia day at brooklands……. be rude not to really

Wow, there aren’t many cars better looking than an F Type, but that is stunning!

Had a great day on Saturday with the Driving Fanatics at a car event in Eastbourne. We had some Astons,Ferrari's,XK's and F-Types in our group.Got some great weather too.
Had more people than usual asking what to look out for when purchasing a F-Type.Wonder if this is the "Jeremy Clarkson influence" or is just due to the location of the car show?
Obviously directed them to this great site for more info!
