What have you done to your F Type today?

Funny you should say that as I contemplated doing the same thing a few days ago when I was at the gym.

It was bright and sunny (or so it looked from the inside anyway) but when I went outside it was cold and windy.

Nearly did it but decided against it in the end although seeing yours maybe I should have risked it!

I used the final of my Christmas presents today.

Previously I've used the others (metal foot rest plate, jag leaper puddle lights, and all the cleaning gear I got including speed wax).

So today was a clean then drive to Thruxton in my lovely shiny car:

Followed by my final xmas present which was a drive in an F Type SVR round Thruxton - I fancied doing a track day but wanted to use someone else's car in case it went wrong :?

Great weather and a lovely drive there and back meant an overall fab day.

Also had the annual service trip. Tried the JLR dealer Listers of Droitwich for the first time. It’s a pleasure to say these days that the customer service was great while I waited approx 2 hrs for the work to be done ✔️

Another pleasure was to see these 4 standing out proud amongst what seemed like 400 LR’s!

Sadly, today I had to go and get a quote to fix damage caused by some woman (seen by another shopper) who struck my car and just drove off in Tesco car park. Go on, guess how much…

The broken grille surround is £682. Yes, I kid you not, for a plastic oval.

Body shop recommended by my Jag Indy specialist will need to prep and respray 3/4 of the front bumper to fade it in. £280+VAT. I think that is a very reasonable price. I’ve seen his work and the quality is excellent. Fingers crossed mine will be too!

So all in about a grand. Not worth claiming on the insurance after paying the excess, considering how my premium will go up. Happy bloody birthday weekend for me…

2 new rear tyres , I must love it , in 40 years of motoring I’ve bought 7 tyres (9 now) I usually sell before it needs them

Completed my Sports steering wheel project - bought a flat bottom wheel off eBay and had it retriimmed at Royal’s who always do a fantastic job. Really pleased with the end result.

Love the wheel, is it easy to remove/replace?

In other news, spent several thousand pounds getting a few things sorted on the V8, supercharger nose/water pump/belts/pulleys .... in case you wondered a supercharged V8 is quite a bit quicker with the supercharger connected ;)
