What do you dislike most about your F Type.

Backlight on the rev counter & speedo is very dim. Playing with the switch makes no difference. Wonder if I have a bulb out or duff switch
Are you adjusting brightness switch with the lights on? If not, it will not work.

I've just remembered what the only thing that really is a bit daft about my car. The button for the rear fog light is down on dash, below right of the steering wheel. Impossible to see and nearly impossible to feel. I always worry I'll open the boot instead by pressing the switch next to it (or is it disabled when the car is moving). Our XE has the fog light switch built into the column stalk, so later F types might also have this better layout. Pretty minor really, whereas it would take a long time to list all of the things that are great.

The fart from the exhaust when moving up quickly through the gears manually ! Especially 2nd to 3rd to 4th.
I've learned to just lift off very slightly at the moment of changing to avoid the trump noise 🤙

The boot won’t unlock if you’re moving. I tested this the other day as had a similar worry...

You dislike that? I'm shocked. :o

That's one of the best things! :D I'm rather disappointed that the F-Type only does this when changing gears manually and not automatically in S.

The driver exit feature.
My last car, a Mercedes, would keep the radio on until the driver door opened.

Odd. Mine does.
On switching off, the radio, Bluetooth and everything else stays on until a door is opened.

The boot button only works when the car is in P.

Me too! 😳

I'll take the pops and bangs and growling all day but the fart, no thanks 🤙

I rather like that noise! My (11 year old) step daughter described it as a dog's bark yesterday which I thought was quite fitting...

Having said that, now you've described it as a fart, I might start to go off it

I dislike the fact that you cannot got a rear window wiper. There had been many times that I have had to get out of my car and wipe the Esperanto away from my rear window before attempting to reverse park.

- Rear parcel shelf should have been retractable blind giving you the convenience of the full boot capacity without having to take the whole self out

THIS! Especially as I take my dog in the car - the rear parcel shelf has to be taken out permanently because of this.

I also don't like the fact that the music volume stays the same between trips - in my VW, the volume always came on at a low level when you got back in the car.

I've seen it elsewhere described as "akin to the popping of God's bubble wrap" ... 8-)

I'd hate it it if didn't remember my settings so I guess Jaguar can't win on this one ... ;)

That I no longer exist as a human being - at a family party recently, as I arrived the first question was 'have you got the Jag?' and I was introduce all evening as 'he's the one with the orange Jag'. I am happy to live with this!

For me it's the sound system shutting down after a few minutes. I'm often sat there waiting for my wife to return from a shop...…..but the radio keeps turning off. I have tried to watch a DVD, which you cannot do whilst in motion, yet it too shuts down! So effectively the DVD is pointless!? Maybe this is re-programmable? If Jag are worried about someone leaving the radio on, then surely 30 minutes would not drain the battery & even my wife is usually back by then.

Having had my F Type for (nearly) a whole week I've managed to find one thing that irks me greatly: the auto dipping near side wing mirror. Whilst I appreciate a good auto-dip for reversing, I like to be able to adjust it and have it use that setting in future. The damn thing dips so far I'm looking at the kerb. Useful for when I'm reverse parallel parking but not so much so when I'm trying to get the thing in the garage - a much more common occurence.

Perhaps it's the car's way of telling me not to put it away ;)
