The Sahara Sand hasn’t reach this far North but gave her a good clean before I put her up for sale. Change in circumstances means I need something with a back seat.

^^^ very shiny! Good luck with the sale :)

As for me, today I have taken my car in for it's 24-month service. Somebody needs to tell Jaguar that trying to charge their customers over £1000 for what amounts to a basic service plus pollen filter and a refresh of brake fluid isn't going to endear their customers to them. Fortunately, I'd already 'had a polite discussion' with them and am not paying anything near that amount. I'll be signing up to the 3-year service program, as that works out far cheaper, and it will be due some more expensive service work during that time and the service plan will be far cheaper that way.

This afternoon rang my local jag dealer to boot in service, svr 2018 12000 miles, it’s got 5 year service pack with it , they told me the service pack would not cover brake fluid change, pollen filters , differential oil change, and wanted another £450 , has any body Encountered this problem, seems abit weird paying for a service pack , and not getting a full service, only brought a year ago so never encountered service before 🤔

,I took out a 3 year service plan when I bought my car, which was circa 22 months old at the time. I downloaded the service schedules for years 1 to 10 at the same time. From these the 4th year service shows:

4th service items.png

Looking at the other service schedules for years 1-10:
- Brake fluid change on cars with carbon ceramics is every second year. Non carbon ceramics is every third year.
- Interior air filter is listed as every second year-
- Transfer box oil change is every third year
- Rear diff oil change is every fourth year.

I would contact Jaguar CRC, as what you've been told seems questionable.

However, I also had a 5 year plan when I bought my V6 in 2015. At the 5th year service, the dealer advised that changing spark plugs was on the schedule but not included in the service plan. The plug change had been brought forward from year 6, to be year 5 at some point, but they would discount this to £100 if I wanted it. Bit of a surprise to begin with, but considering my 5 year contract was for the maintenance schedule set out in 2015, it wouldn't be reasonable to have extra work being added retrospecively for the same price.

I can't imagine that the service schedules have changed since 2018 to make renewing pollen filters and brake fluid more frequent? Changing rear diff oil was brought forward at some point, I think, due to the number of failures that happened. CRC ought to be able to clarify what the service schedue was in 2018 when your 5 year contract was set.

The schedule on the P450, for my MY21 car, shows brake fluid change every 2nd year and that's on standard brakes (carbon ceramic isn't an option below the 'R' now), I bought a brake fluid tester but forgot to actually test the quality of the brake fluid before the service - I can't imagine it has degraded that far in 2 years but that's the schedule they now appear to run. I wonder whether they found some edge cases where 3 years was 'very borderline) and they've chosen to move it to 2 years for safety. Or, ever the cynic that I am, perhaps it's because they can charge for it .....

Jaguar service plan now includes a condition that if cost of service exceeds the amount paid in the plan you remain liable for the additional cost -

Services Costs will be deducted from your payment. In the event that the cost of the Services received by you prior to termination exceeds the payments made by you, you shall remain liable for the outstanding amount and shall make immediate payment to us of any balance due and we shall be entitled to charge interest at a rate of 4% above the base rate of Barclays Bank plc until full reimbursement is made.

Yes, it seems to vary between dealers, with some covering everything within the service plan and others charging for additional items. Worth phoning different dealers to compare cover and what additional items are charged for and cost.

Removed the wind deflector on my convertible.

A tricky little job as the sod wouldn't come out, had to google the process as there is a knack to it.

Visibility is so much better out of the rear view mirror, and the car looks better without it.

It’s one of those easy when you know how things.
First thing I did when I got my F home and it’s been in the garage since. Much better looking without it.

Full stereo custom upgrade complete. Audison Thesis tweeters in custom pods and 6.5 Sax in factory door positions plus 2 sub boxes with 8” Hertz Mile Legend. What a sound upgrade.

Slightly simpler mod than that impressive stereo upgrade. ;) Finally got around to fit this... wanted something more subtle than the usual union jack and the tricky thing was to make it look as good as possible from straight behind.

Drove with my sweet half down south for almost 3000km trip to in south-west of France, to the Spanish border.
The car drew a lot of attention and compliments at every place we stopped or stayed. Honestly, it is a great GT tourer in terms of pace and comfort.
Back home, decided to give it a wash to remove all the insects dots on the front. Will never use a pressure washer on the front deflectors any more, lesson learnt:

I like the spoiler decal, very neat, are they available on line?

I didn't find anything like that online so I created the image file myself based on a leaper image online and then ordered a custom sticker with it from an online decal printing place. I'll upload the image file and measurements here in case you want to do the same.

I’ve seen the other thread so thank you very much, may give it ago when time allows

Spring clean (apologies for the double post).
I take no credit for the subject or for the (probably inept) application of Auto Glym products.
Thank you Ian Callum and team.

Hi Lunar, I’ve tried to PM you twice, but it appears to be stuck in the outbox! And I’m not techie, so unable to sort out.
Bottom line is Mo at LR Retrofits is ok, did a great job for me, and I can recommend.
Bob ps see you at Goodwood at the w/end? Maybe, the forecast looks good.
