My list from 1997...
Austin Metro (first car, terrible!) B plate
205 GTi 1.6 (did 50k miles in it) F plate
Astra 1.8 SRi (needed something reliable for work) Y plate

Amanda, All I can remember is a general feeling that the Lancia would leave me stranded somewhere, but it didn't. I do vaguely remember finding some screws under the floor-mats however.
I didn't keep it very long, I bought it off a friend and didn't want to fall out with him (he's now massively wealthy!). I found the Alfas sturdier mechanically, although clearly Italian.

It was quicker than a 2.0 Capri-just, handled better, stopped better, was more comfortable and arguably better looking. All imho of course. Unfortunately, the Ford didn't dissolve overnight like a Beta Coupe and was much easier to tune. Plus, the bits for it were a lot cheaper. Mine was worked on a little and I sold a kidney for an Ansa exhaust (the orangey centres were very exciting back in the 80s

I loved many of them and miss most greatly Car's of note are both the F-Type R's, the Z4M's, the GR Supra, S2000, all of which are awesome in different ways; also the Insignia (it was a workhorse and is still in the family after I gifted it to my sister ). Additionally have a soft spot for the Eunos Roadster as I restored it over a year.
