I've a confession to make, I bought one of the mod4cars SmartTop units about a year ago.

Programmed and fitted it

The one touch button function worked perfectly from the roof button in the car, however I could never get the top to open or close from the keyfob, now I'll admit I couldn't be arsed to take it out and check I'd programmed it correctly.

Now I always thought to make the top go up or down you pressed the lock or unlock keyfob button three times - this is what never worked for me

Fast forward to today and I've discovered a revolution, the top does go down from the keyfob if i hit lock, unlock, unlock - I'm amazed

So is there a combination for putting the roof up? As that one I haven't worked out yet

I don't have a convetible, or the smarttop but I vaguely recall reading a post a while back that said they'd changed the procedure (on later cars?) from 3 locks to lock, unlock, unlock, as you've discovered, and lock, unlock, lock to put it up?

Mine uses the conventional x3 press of unlock to lower roof and lock to raise
Depending if using V1 or V2 software there are different options and functions to select.
I’d suggest a look on the mods4cars website and look at the relevant manual and matrix.

Incidentally in terms of programming I’ve done it many times and never removed the module. Just plug into the usb in situ with laptop to hand and programme away. Very quick and easy.

The combination is different dependant on the year of the car. For mine it’s unlock x 3 to open and lock x3 to close. I’m sure it’s on their website but I can pm you a copy of the instructions I have if needed? You can also program it on the car using the roof switch and counting audible ‘beeps’ from the instrument console, it works but needs patience! Or, as above, you can just plug into it with the supplied usb cable.
