Hi all, I know the exhaust valve topics have been greatly covered however I wonder if anyone has swapped their vacuum valves on earlier cars with electronic valves from later cars? (Or electric ones on an aftermarket exhaust)
My issue with mine is that I have replaced the original vacuum valves which worked for a while, however not reliable and they are currently stuck open. They worked when first fitted then stuck closed, only way of opening was manually with a rod down the exhaust.
Then if the vacuum line was reconnected they would close again, but wouldnt open no matter what I did. Now the vacuum isn't working either way so the issue could be a solenoid perhaps.
Anyway Id like though to get the original functionality back with the option to close and open as intended. I might replace with an SS exhaust and thinking as there maybe an issue with the vacuum then remove this and going with electric instead.
Anyone know if wiring them is a big job and can they be wired to the original interior switch and work when cycling modes (or will it be something requiring coding to the car etc) ?
