Hey everyone,

I've just released our new FT450 Auto Hold Wireless Car Phone Holder.

- It uses our new ball joint design allowing you to position the phone holder to any angle.
- Our phone holder automatically opens and closes to secure your phone.

Check our my amazingly well produced super expensive video of the phone holder working. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJOLQUlsCfU

If you like what you see and need it NOW click the link - https://www.knightspeed.co.uk/shop/ftype-ft450-phone-holder/

Any questions feel free to ask.
Thanks
Jonathan

Can highly recommend these phone holders. I have the version with the ball joint and the manual open and close. Having the QI charging is fantastic too.

My samsung gets overheated with Qi charging.. .. I just use the usb and also play my music..
I have the same issue with aftermarket Qi chargers
on my iPhone10. Worries me about potential damage so I stick to usb now

I purchased the Knightspeed FT450G. In US dollars it cost about $250. https://www.knightspeed.co.uk/shop/jaguar-f-type-auto-hold-wireless-phone-charger-ft450g/

Upon closer inspection, it turns this is a 3D printed bracket and the same phone charger you can buy on Amazon for $12.99 (cheaper from Alibaba).

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D1JR5W4

The seller even uses same identical box it comes in from, tears off the label and adds his own. I really expected a better quality product for the money. It also took over a month to arrive with very poor communication. I had to chase up about 4 times and at one point the order was lost.

When it arrived, the phone charger was broken and the seller asked me to mail the charger back, no offer of a free return. In fact the postage would have cost more than $12.99!

I would not recommend this product.

1. It frees up the cup holder! Hehe
2. Easier reading, closer to eye level (I use Waze and/or Google Maps, I have never been a fan of the nag system in either of my jags)
3. Wireless charging, less cables showing
4. Nothing adheres to the surface of your shiny F Type

It’s a great idea, just a shame about the price, product quality and customer service. It is simply not worth what I paid for it but I do think it is the best solution.

Follow up on this product.

*** KnightSpeed do not honor their warranty promise. ***

I informed him (Jonathan the owner) that my bracket had snapped (Dec 1, 2019) and I was promised two replacements after repeatedly following up. I asked for a tracking number and never received anything despite repeated responses from the seller this would happen. I am now without a product despite spending over $200 on this product. 2 1/2 months later and now all communication has stopped.

I would avoid this company altogether.

It is such a shame because he could very easily improve his customer service and deliver a great product. I don't understand why he chooses to deal with customers in this manner. I am not alone either.

I’ve had one of the early holders for a number of years. Thought they were great. I did snap it once & Jonathan replaced it FOC. Had nothing but praise for him & his product & would vouch for him at every opportunity.

However, I recently had my windscreen replaced & the installer broke it. Have tried to contact Jonathan on numerous occasions without success to order a replacement.

If you are still around Jonathan, could you give us a sign? Even if it’s to say you’re no longer producing these? Your website is still up but I’m reluctant to order as I’ve also heard about poor communication.

My £80,00 is waiting to be put in your account! Hope all is well.

Darren

As this forum is to help others, maybe I'm treading on toes here (I'll let the mods decide) but here is a step by step DIY way to this handy gadget.

I've posted this elsewhere on the forum, but for those with access to a 3D printer etc, here is a version available on Thingiverse.com.
They show their version with a stick on ball jointed holder (magnetic) I've also added a website that prints for you.....

As for Qi charging, I've had two and both were slow and also that heat whilst charging was worrying. So good old fashioned cables will do for me.

1. Cost of 3D printed grab bar clip printing at home is pence/cents or anything from £7 upwards using 3rd party printer company...

2. Example of Magentic phone holder that could fit onto 3D printed grab bar clip. This might be to big a surface for the 3D printed part, but until I can test myself, this is the kind of thing you'll need.
EXAMPLE ONLY...UNTILL I PRINT ONE MYSELF I DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT SIZE OF THE MOUNT FOR THE MAGNETIC HOLDER>>THIS MAYBE TO LARGE, ITS JUST HERE TO SHOW THE TYPE OF THING YOU'LL NEED...
Amazon around £9 upwards. Site does not allow direct links...

3. Example of cost for short USB Type-C cable (anything from £4 upwards)

Good luck and let us all see your car with it fitted...

No it's not a problem provided you are clear if you are connected with the companies you are posting products of.
The site does allow links to be posted using the "link" icon.
The pictures you posted of the phone mount are on a left hand drive car so not yours?
Would a magnetic mount have any adverse affect on the phone's operation ?

For the info of others with the Knightspeed mount, the OP hasn't been online here since November last year.

Hi PhilB.

I have absolutely no connection with any of the sites listed, just here to help.

All the photos are taken from THINGIVERSE.COM, just type in F-Type Phone Holder (I think you have to join, its totally free)
On Thingiverse join and type in: Jaguar F-Type Phone Mount
https://www.thingiverse.com/

I'm guessing the person who uploaded the pictures is most probably from the states, hence the LHD.
Also guessing you just turn the item upside down, as I can't see it being handed.

Magnetic sticky pad phone holders for rear of phones are very common, normally fits to case holder not normally directly to phone.

USB Type-C cables are normal for phones now..Amazon basic cables are great value. But other brands are obviously available.

Hope this helps.
