Hi all,
My Dad was a Jaguar tragic, and I grew up around E-Types, XKs of all sorts, XJSs and all varieties of our favourite feline machines. Once-upon-a-time his daily driver was a primrose V12 E-Type.
On his passing several years ago, he left me a sports car of another brand (which will go unnamed), which I quite liked, but it never really got my juices flowing, so-to-speak. It was an early-2000s ten cylinder American muscle car in bright red which drove like a cut snake.
With Jaguar going all electric, I started to think about how the old man never owned an F-Type, and as this will supposedly be the last combustion-engine Jaguar sports car, I couldn't help but feel the collection would be incomplete without it. So, I sold the car above and went on the prowl for a Jaaaaag.
Before long I came across this beauty - a P450 coupe in British Racing Green with tan leather interior. One test drive was enough to know that I HAD to have it.
I've owned the Jaaaag for about 3 weeks now, and it is easily the best machine I have ever bought for myself. Driving this thing makes me feel like Batman. It also makes me feel closer to Dad. He would have loved it. It lives in my garage in rural New South Wales next to a 1951 XK-120, also in green, and a 1967 series 1.5 E-Type roadster (originally opalescent blue, although a previous owner has had it painted black - perhaps inspired by the Rolling Stones number that was released the year before it was built).
All that is to say that I have a pretty nostalgic connection to this brand and I am very glad to be joining all of you enthusiastic F-Type owners out there.

I am reasonably sure my car was used as a reviewer for this and a few other reviews published in Australia in early 2022. It is exactly the same spec as my vehicle, and the date of manufacture on mine would suggest it is indeed the same car. Also, given the very small number of F-Types I see around Sydney and NSW, there will not be many other vehicles in exactly the same spec and year model as mine. I've reached out to a magazine that reviewed the same car and will update if I'm able to confirm!
Best,
