I suppose Jaguar is only following the same route as the car that inspired it, the E Type. The original was best by a country mile, but slowly got worse with "updates". Although Jaguar did have the excuse of trying to meet US regulations back in the 60s and 70s, today the updates are purely to appease the marketing men. I can't see any technical improvements from this face lift, so if it doesn't work aesthetically, it's failed.
I’m not a fan of the way the facelift looks, but you can’t deny there are improvements thrown in as well?....
Digital dash (going with the modern times, more customisable, arguably safer as don’t need to look to centre console for maps etc)
Upgraded infotainment system with latest NGI, better graphics, maps and interface
Revised exhaust system for the 2L (louder)
More power for the V8 R (now at SVR level and will be the new halo model)
Lights l, I know very controversial and I personally don’t like them, but from a functional perspective these are an upgrade
This is all very opinionated, most will always prefer their own. In general it has been well received from the press and the order books are looking promising considering it’s only been available for a few days
I think it’s very XE, bit of ipace thrown in too. saw it in a darker colour today and it was a big improvement over these pictures, bonnet panel gap less in your face, power bulge more pronounced. It’ll probably be a grower
