New Ftype 21MY, real photos

In my opinion the best ange for an F-Type coupe is side on and not much has changed. Next best is the rear end and they have changed a winning formula and not for the better. Least best is the front and now it is the worst view by a big margin.

Very poorly executed.

I had a play with the dash - you can have a centre rev counter/speedo, you can press a button and go to 2 dials either side, it’s quite configurable

New logo on front bumper I didn’t post before was a nice touch;

Apart from the screen, interior is the same. One or two details like to quilted stitching on doors, new dash binnacle leather and an engraved glove box button. Genuinely you wouldn’t notice any of this

Also the new 2L has a revised exhaust system and brings more noise than the previous one. Although some of this is through the speakers into the cabin

I do like the car. It's just the view looking down onto the front. Something is just not right. Maybe it will be accepted better in the USA as it has the flat Corvette nose. Here in the Uk it is just so bloody wrong. Remember the MK2 Miata or MX5 that had the flat sort of nose. Jaguar maybe should consult us on here before diving into new models. How dare they not ask us 1st. Anyway the sales figures will show whether we were right or wrong. You watch it'll probably be a best seller.

Not if the comments on the US site are anything to go by - they all hate it and reckon the 2015 is the best. They don't even like our year! :(

IMO it's awful , front is hideous and the rear lights now don't follow the lines of the car, the worst thing of all is that digital dash, its not for this type of car, analog dials all day long.

There are elements of the car that I quite like, which as I’ve said elsewhere, is damning the whole thing with faint praise. I’m guessing that there might still be some development left before they actually hit the showrooms and roads. Realistically though, if this is as near a production model as possible, I’m very happy with my MY2020 and delighted I’ve got it, along with its V6!

The more I look at the second picture where you can see the black original car in the background, makes me realise how wrong they have got the front end revision.
No wonder Mr Callum resigned.

I think the panel gap at the front of the bonnet looks so wrong. I know XK's and the current F type have them but they aren't so noticeable.

I guess the ‘prototype’ sticker means nothing then?

Anyway, it looks shite. I’m even going off the grill now, which I quite liked originally. No V6 as I keep saying would immediately stop me buying too. Took mine for a spin yesterday and it was awesome. Perfect for the roads in Yorkshire.

It's a prototype car - in that it's suitable for an external customer (presumably for final software etc..) but hardware is 100% pukka.

I keep coming back to this picture of the original. I can’t see how the new model is better looking than this. They’ve ruined it. I wish they’d just retired the F and named it something else.

It seems the general consensus is that the new design is worse than the “our” design, that’s bad news for JLR.

On a positive note, the number of current cars will be fixed and with our model being more desirable, it might help stem the depreciation and help all our cars keep their current value!

Wishful thinking????

I hope so. As the V6 was the most popular engine in the UK up to 2019 Q2 for the F-Type (Q3 figures not yet released) then presuming as the majority of UK customers wanted a V6 then you would presume the second hand market for V6 would be stronger. Same for anyone going on "looks".

Keeping a close eye on used 400's on the run up to May when I have the decision of "should it stay or should it go" at 3 years old.
