New and very happy owner :-)

Hello everyone,
I've been reading on this forum for months, and now, finally being a new owner, the time has come to present myself.
I'm Belgian, so forgive me if I use the metric system, Lt/100km vs mpg, and € vs £, or if I make some language errors.
Always been a Jaguar enthusiast, and already owned a few (E-Type V12 series 3 coupe, and an XJ 4.2 (of 1982). I have been restoring classic cars for many years, mainly Americans from the 50's. So I know my way around cars.

2 months ago I bought an F-Type P300 R-Dynamic MY21, with only 14,000 km on the odometer. (Silicon Silver with Black Pack). It looks, feels and smells like a new car. The previous owner was a woman who took care of it fanatically. The original P-Zero rear tires still have 6.5 mm + profile, so that says a lot about her driving style.
It's superb in Silicon Silver, also because the hue changes from gold to dark silver depending on the amount of sunlight.
Also briefly considered the V8 5.0 Lt, but ECO and road taxes in Belgium are horrendous for such big polluting engines.
I know the F-Type P300 is more a GT cruiser then a hardcore sportscar. But I've had already a few of those, and as I'm getting a bit older now I prefer to have a bit more comfort and practicality  . And I prefer the MY21 model to the previous one; sorry for that :D .

For me it has a beautiful timeless design which make it one of the most beautiful cars on the road. If I were to change something about the model, it would be to make the bonnet 15cm longer so that the cabin-bonnet ratio is +-the same as that of the E-Type. And I would give the exhaust a bit more 'grunch'.

What I've already done to my F-type:
- Complete detailing and wax coating.
- Adjustment of door and bonnet to obtain perfect gaps.
- Installed a USB dongle so that I can now connect wirelessly to Android Car.
- Created an Incontrol account and took Remote service for 2 years.
- Major inspection and maintenance by a Jaguar dealer.

Given the bad weather in Belgium, I've not driven it much yet (approximately 1,000 km). Also because I already had my first problems with it.
4 weeks ago the yellow engine warninglight came on. My ODBII scanner showed error message "P0143 - low voltage". Since It felt like the engine was running normally, I cleared the error and waited for a while.
2 rides later the yellow engine warning light returned. At the same time, after 5 minutes of driving, the engine cooling fan started howling at maximum speed continuously. However, the engine temperature remained perfectly normal.
At the same time the Incontrol Remote app showed: "Status: multiple problems identified".
Now my ODBII scanner gave 2 error messages:
- P0143 - heated oxygen sensor 3, bank 1 - low voltage
- P2B61(73) - inactive - test failed.

So last week my F-Type was at the nearest Jaguar dealer for repairs. Fortunately, I didn't have to pay the bill because the previous owner took an extended warranty on it, pfew  . Because I don't think it would have been a cheap repair.
Works carried out:
1) replacement of the oxygen sensor.
2) replacement of the water pump and cooling control system. The latter would have been blocked.
Meantime I've done 2 short testdrives, and the errors haven't returned. So far so good... 8-)

Welcome to the forum IvoDC. Good of you to join us and an interesting intro ! Would love to see a few pics of your P300 as I originally had my heart set on a Silicon Silver with Black Pack.

Welcome to the club! I hope you'll enjoy the car. You mentioned about the V8 but have you not considered any of the V6 models? You may find that people here tend to be a bit cynical about the 2.0L engine but what matters is how you feel when driving it.

P.S pictures are a required proof of ownership around here 😉

Welcome hope the initial problems are resolved now and you can enjoy your F-Type, I am also in Belgium and have now had my P300 for more than six years, just miss a bit the sound of my previous TVR V8’s and straight 6’s besides that it’s plenty quick enough.

Welcome IvoDC, from another Belgian around.
Silicon silver is a lovely lively color, particularly with black pack and on an F-Type.
I had the opportunity to ride in the P300 convertible on a twisty road, it was real fun, reminded me of the Alfa Spider I had some years back.
Now that the weather has finally improved you can start enjoying, maybe our roads will cross soon :D

Welcome,
Am I right it was on Autoscout? if so I was eyeballing it as well. Really really like the colour.
There was a software update for the constant on fan as well as I had the same issue.
I'll keep an eye out for you ;)

@ WShudds
I love the latest model the most, and that one in Belgium is not for sale with the V6 engine.
A friend of mine works in the JLR warranty department, and he told me that warranty problems with the 2.0 Ingenium petrol engine are very rare. The Ingenium diesel engine on the other hand has a lot of problems. And beause it belongs also to the Ingenium family, people tend to stretch that believe to the petrol engine.
And I posted already a picture of my car in the F-type gallery page ;) . Because it was mostly raining the last 2 months, I didn't had the chance to take nice pictures so I took one of it parked in my garage :-). (My hobby cars may not drive in bad weather ).

@ NCE 61
Today, as we finally had a sunny day, I made a 50km trip, and all problems seems to be solved. No engine warning light; my cat is purring nicely :-)

@ SOLDES
You were right; it was on Autoscout. I checked several F-Types in variable conditions, but this one was so nice (litterally new condition), that I had to buy it .
The constant fan in my case wasn't a software glitch (that was on MY19 and 20). The electrically controlled temperature regulating system was mechanically blocked, and wenn the engine CPU notice it can't controll that system anymore, it makes the fans spinning at max speed to be shure the engine can't overheat.
