Momentary loss of power - ideas

Morning all,

Really struggling with the f-type at the moment.

Just driven into work, only 30 min run.
Has been driving for 10 mins so water just up to temperature. Was in normal mode just running flappy paddles. Completely dry roads and warm weather 15^C
Accelerating (not hard) and car had momentary loss for power, like hesitation. Was very brief much less than a second.

1/2 mile later did exactly the same. Straight road this time 3/4 foot down.

No traction control lights, didn’t feel like when car breaks away.

Nothing on dash ( lights etc ). Will get the code reader out when get home.

1/4 tank fuel.

Worried going to be one of those tricky things to diagnose.

Any one had a similar experience?

Si

I had similar symptoms some time back and it turned out to be the electrical connector on the fuel pump not being fully seated. Apparently like that from the factory and it took a while to work itself loose enough to intermittently lose connectivity. Good luck!

Gas gas,

Got the arch liner off…
Are you talking about the big multi-way by the abs pump

Or another one towards the front?

Thanks

Worked out my problem.

Was soggy air filters caused by dealer not refitting air boxes after supercharger change and service.

One was partially sucked up manifold.
Did full strip down and clean.

Two new filters…. Now drives a lot better and been fine since.

Found easiest refitting box by unscrewing at self tappers so flush with housing. Went back together without two much wiggling…

Blooming main dealer’s

Thank goodness decided to take apart and look

You'd be better off finding a decent independent you can trust - they'll do a better job without the eye-watering labour rates!

I've also had experience of a main dealer fitting one of the air filters incorrectly causing maf sensor code. I don't use main dealers anymore because of this, oh and also using the wrong grade of oil!

Have you spoken to the dealer and asked for compensation for the cost of new filters + time? Very poor from them....

Glad you resolved issue. Agree that long-term, enthusiast, owners far better served using independent specialist.

You have one of the best on your doorstep…
