Looking at a VX62 V8 S

Hello all, this forum has proven invaluable to me in my search for an F Type so far so thought I'd see if anyone has any knowledge of the one I am currently in the process of buying.

It is a Firesand on a VX62 plate which by all accounts seems to be a very early and dare I say interesting example?

From looking at it the only weirdness I spotted on it was that it was equipped with rear parking sensors and not the parking camera - is this a spec choice or a peculiarity of the earlier models?

The full plate is VX62 KWP if anyone knows anything about the car. The dealer has shown me what appears to be a full Jaguar service history but I couldnt see anything about any of the recalls being covered in this.

Picture below, and information greatly appreciated, thanks!

Car number 85.

All the original vx62 cars (the first 259 ish) were ran by Jaguar and loaned to TV, magazines, press, track, mule cars or photo shoots and were a mix of V6 and V8 models in various colours. They ran most of them under prototype models so not to incur road tax so you might find this car has really cheap road tax as well.

Hope this Google link works of all the original 62 plate cars.

Although I can find nothing on this reg plate.

Service history. Which is typical of these cars with no PDI or 1st service before they were put away and later auctioned off.

Edit. The v5C says revenue weight "0" and CO2 "0".

Thank you both for the really good information, its appreciated.

On the subject of price, I agree its a little high and I have no intention of paying asking. I think its inflated by the rarity of the colour (which unfortunately I really like) and the dealership, though having seen it in person, its in remarkably good shape, even the engine is spotless. The wheels arent my favourite either, I would prefer style 7013 or 6003 but I'm not sure if they are even available at this vintage. The provenance factor isnt a huge driver for me, as its not going to be an investment item, but a small boost to long term value is no bad thing - even if quite tenuous..

Thank you very much also for the build number and service history, that's good to see. I had read rumours of the tax situation so that could be a nice little bonus also.

If there are no major red flags other than the price I suppose I will press on a little further and see if there is a compelling deal to be done.

It is a lovely looking thing, for reference I paid £26k for a 2013 V8S with lots of options other than the surround stereo, just over 50k miles.
One thing I would say is that a rear camera is not that important as the car is quite stubby at the rear, as for seeing over the bonnet jeesh.

At this age of car I would be looking at condition ahead of any idea of rarity, sure the history is a little more interesting than normal but not sure there should be any value associated to it. At this price point buy what appeals, use it as intended and enjoy it. I have a few cars in the garage and without doubt the looks and noise of the V8S attracts the most looks despite being over 12years old.
