JLR previously owned

I’m interested in a f type at Jaguar Wolverhampton described as a 1 owner car owned by JLR , should I be concerned about this ? Possibly used to thrash around in doing demos or am I overthinking it ?

There are quite a number with first ownership being internal JLR ( I have two myself ) there is a good thread on here where forum member “simple R” gives a run down of the usage types. Personally unless it had been used as a track/experience car, think it’s pretty hard to thrash the F Type doing demo’s on public roads. Check it’s history and overall condition.

History checks out , it’s a 22 plate so only had 2 services. They did me a good video and main issue seems to be swirl marks on the black paintwork. Need to head up there and take a proper look.

I had a bad experience with a main dealer selling “ex management cars” the cars are purchased at a closed dealer only auction, pre auction the cars are “prepared for auction” maybe my expectation was to high but spending 50K + on a second hand car from a main dealer I think I should have high expectations look out for :-
Resprayed panels
Over spray
Poorly re assembled trims and seals
Not sure why but boot lights didn’t work investigating showed not connected my concern why disconnected in first place
The dealers don’t even see the cars before they buy then they just see pictures then have to sell what they have bought regardless if it’s good or not.
Have a very very close look at the car, one if mine had swirls on paint work, turned out that area had been resprayed and poorly finished the car looked brilliant at first as the dealer had detailed the car once whatever they put on the car started to wash off lots of issues were revealed, don’t assume just because main dealer is selling that the car is a good one don’t be fooled by the 165 point check they quote ask to see the completed check sheet bet they don’t have it.
I will try to post pictures of what I found on my dealer purchased, 165 point checked car

To be fair to the guy who did the video I asked him to be extra picky and he was. Swirls looked worse as it’s black and was under the lights.

Maybe I was just unlucky but I had 2 cars from the dealer both “ex management” cars direct from auction to dealer then to me both very poor for the money both from May 2022 both KR22 …… registration numbers, these were effectively cars that were leased to Jaguar employees all be it managers.
When I purchased my current car I paid my detailing guy to come and check the car exterior (paint) my main concern was why re spray a 18 month old car had it been on an accident and not gone through insurance just gone back to Jaguar to be fixed

Be a bit careful. Ex "JLR Management" cars can mean anything. Press cars, experience days cars....see where it was PDI'd on service history. Looks as if some KS registered cars were used at Fen End experince day cars..... https://s1.geograph.org.uk/geophotos/07/68/73/7687381_d1961535_1024x1024.jpg

Ok that’s good to know , exactly the kind of thing I’m hoping to avoid! Believe it was registered Milton Keynes way

Ks22hlz. Much appreciated

Have looked but cannot any info on it, other than it was used by Jaguar and serviced back at base.

It would of gone to closed Jaguar auction under one of three categories. But again cannot find it which is very common for these KS22 and KR22 etc plates.

1) Ex Corporate Repurchase
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously owned by a vehicle rental company or allocated to a fleet available to JLR partners.
Possible multiple users.

2) Ex Jaguar Internal Fleet
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously allocated to a fleet available to JLR customers and partners.
Possible multiple users.

3) Ex Jaguar Management
A Jaguar/Land Rover vehicle previously allocated to an individual employee.

I see SimpleR has had a look for details of the car and can’t find anything, you could always ask the dealer for “back room paperwork” it may give you a clue where it was and who drove it personally I would avoid but 100% avoid if it’s been any of the of the first two categories listed by SimpleR

Thanks simpleR think I will give it a miss as dealer was rather vague about its background. Sounds like KR and KS plates should be avoided unless more is known.

When I did the factory tour, the cars sat in there reception area for us to look at were all KR plates
