As an owner of a precious F Type it has always been a concern about the costs to maintain and repair a car when I lack any technical knowledge as I spectacularly failed my tyre kicker exams. Ignorance about your car will cost you and certain businesses know this.
This forum is the first port of call when anything goes wrong and again it saved me from costs that could have been incurred. In essence had a service and rear brake change and within two days came out to find the battery flat. A failure of the mechanic to properly shut down the OBD connection is undoubtedly the cause but I was looking at replacing the battery.
I found the solution on this forum having charged up the battery with a trickle charger - when locking the vehicle the central hazard warning light stays on to show the vehicle had not been shut down correctly. As per the forum instructions removed the battery lead, replaced and continue to charge the battery. A week later no battery issues and back on the road with my beloved car. Battery check done for free at local garage and healthy battery.
A big thank you for all those F Type owners who contribute advice on here and those who maintain the site. National tyre kickers I salute you !
