Hi, New(ish) owner

Hello!
A few months ago, after many years of looking, I became the proud owner of a '21 RWD P450 in British Racing Green with a tan interior. Seeing as Jaguar stopped making them, I figured that it was now or never.

Since buying it I've been reading up on forums (as you do), trying to find out more about the car, and investigating ways of improving the most awful stereo I've ever heard in such an expensive car!! This seems to be a friendly bunch here, so thought I'd finally take the plunge and sign up. :)

Looking forward to better weather, this thing is somewhat lively on cold damp roads!

Welcome to the club! Which sound system do you have - "ordinary" Meridian or Surround? And anyway, why would you want to listen to that instead of the 4 rear speakers? ;)

Thanks

I have the "ordinary" Meridian system. The v8 sounds amazing - it's probably my favorite thing about the car, especially now I've pulled fuse 15. First world problem perhaps, but a nice stereo is a must-have on long trips though! :D

I'll post some photos of the interior tomorrow if I get a chance to take some in daylight.

I have the "ordinary" Meridian, too, but have never really found it wanting on the rare occasions I use it. The F-Type cabin is no concert hall! ;)

I play high quality MP3s from a USB stick. Well, high for MP3s!

Hi, this is how your post appeared to me :D :D :D

I got the F-Type I wanted (more or less) - all except the tan interior and powered tailgate. Do post a few interior pics when you get a chance. And welcome.

Haha! I'd like to be able to tell you that I know who she is and how she got there, but I'm afraid I have no idea! What I do know is that she's certainly not going to appeal to Jaguar's new intended market.

I finally got around to taking a photo of the interior, as requested by Crezzer :) I may be a little biased, but I love the green and tan combination!

Excuse the dirty carpet, it does get driven a bit, which means that I get to smile quite a bit too :D

Speaking of the carpet, (first-world stuff again, I know...) my driver's side floor mat isn't as good of a fit as I might expect - it overlaps the footrest a little. Does anyone know if that is normal, or do I have the wrong mats?

Cheers.

Welcome! Couldn't agree more about the colour combo! ;)

That does look a bit odd with the mat and aftermarket footrest. Perhaps the footrest is fitted strangely and is the mat positioned correctly with the hooks in the holes?

The mat is correct, It’s the aftermarket foot rest and it looks like your mat isn’t secured on the RH clip.

Ah, so that footrest is aftermarket? I didn't realise that, thanks. That's very helpful - that's why the mat doesn't fit then!
The clip is there, not sure why it wasn't locked to the mat when I took that picture. It makes no difference when it is - still fits badly.

I'll have a proper look at that tomorrow.

Major Tom, that interior looks awesome, I'd have liked to have found one in full tan, but green/tan was like hen's teeth as it is :)

I don't think any modern Jaguar came with a footrest, strangely enough. That one seems to sit a bit wonky.

Cheers, yes green/tan seems to be surprisingly rare, at least in the UK and down here on the continent. Except for the last two model years or so when loads of F-Types seemed to get specced like that. Brilliant combo anyway and you're lucky have caught such an example. :)
