Hey and Hi - 400 I think!

I thought it was time I registered rather than just browsed - Based in the South, I was on the verge of going with the Porsche Cayman, and the guy I was buying it off also had an F-Type - head turned, Porsche idea dumped, and the last few months [I'm super slow in making commitments] has been admiring and deciding which F-Type I want, for when I make my purchase, Sept/Oct.

I've settled on the 400Sport now and am getting as much info as possible. The one thing I have yet to decide on is colour; they are all fantastic, of course. I was initially sold on the Silver, a model I saw that was stunning and fully specced, but at times, the black and white, depending on the wheels and trim, also blows me away. Ultimately, it will probably depend on availability at the time of purchase.

So yeah, I finally signed up and am very receptive to any 400 Sport info I can be directed to, even if I have seen it before.

I'm looking forward to devouring more info, not only on the 400sport but all F-Type models; there is time for me to ^^^ to the V8!!

Hi and welcome.

A good choice!
Had mine 400 sport since Nov 2017.
My 400 sport ownership is here - https://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2034

Can’t go wrong with a 400 as they’re very well specced and even rarer than the V8’s*. I’ve got the fixed rear wing on mine which finishes it off given the aero kit on the car, but some do still prefer the moveable version; each to their own etc.

*Always nice to tease the V8 owners until they disappear towards the horizon

Thanks, Guys. I enjoyed your car thread. I said I think in the post title, but no, I'm dead set—I've been so for quite a while. Kev, note your location. The one thing I like to do from time to time is drive the length of the 272, and it will be one of the first drives when I pick the 400 up. I've not done it for a few years as I have been abroad; I hope it's not too bad for the potholes these days. It's the one thing I don't have to worry too much about down in Dorset; it's pretty good down here.

There are average speed cameras along stretches of the A272 now but the road can still be enjoyed. I didn’t notice too many potholes between Midhurst and Petersfield but that could change like the weather…

Been looking at this, looks in pretty good order, and after much deliberation, think I like the fixed spoiler now - very close to pulling the trigger https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202503150183301?sort=price-asc&searchId=b0f1d237-21ea-4c83-acfb-34510ea9779b&advertising-location=at_cars&aggregatedTrim=400%20Sport&body-type=Coupe&make=Jaguar&model=F-Type&postcode=dt3%205fh&seller-type=trade&year-to=2018&fromsra

Another Kev here... I have a silver 400, which really sparkles in the sun! It's obviously the best colour. IMHO. 😁

I upgraded the brakes with even more yellow - original post:

Halfway along the A272 is Caffeine and Machine... well worth a visit.

Looking at the service history (last picture), apart from the missed service in 2020 which could have been covid impact. It doesn't mention the rear diff oil change in any of the services. If you drive listen for any diff noises

The silver is my preference. The wait has been so long now I’m getting distracted. Just desperate to bring one home now

Finally found it, and did it - White 400Sport 17k on the clock, all the bits, [no heated seats weirdly] and super unexpected white stitching instead of the Yellow - job done today and very happy to be in the 400club!

Hell of a stress as off on holiday tomorrow, so picking up when I get back at which point, I'll get some photos up

OK, been and picked up the car today. And OMG!

First up, a huge shout-out to Tim at SAT - amazing service.

Secondly, what a car - more than exceeded expectations, even on the 2-hour wet drive home.

Very excited for a dry day outing.

Now to find the best DIY car cleaning kit, as it is now filthy!
