Front Strut - F Type R 2015

Hi all,

I am experiencing a "Bonk" on the front right hand strut area when going over even light bumps.
I will investigate the suspension, however, when i opened the hood there were red rubber particles in the Strut Well.
Attached are 2 pictures of the same.
If anyone has an exploded view of the front strut assemble so i could pin point it, it would be appreciated.

Would be number 2 or 12 I reckon.

I dont see any rubber rings in there, however, it may well be part of one of the items.

Hi,
Upon further investigation inside the wheel arch, i can see the red gasket / seal sits between 2 and 12 (on above exploded view) as per attached pictures.
Has anyone got experience with this or removed the front shock absorber?
Could this be the source of my "Bonk"?

It could be the sleeve which goes over the coil itself?

Has the car been involved in an accident as there’s a lot of overspray on the strut mounting bolts and electrical connector?

I was sure I'd read about this on the US forum, and a quick Google search revealed the thread I remember seeing

It is item 6 that has perished.

Hi,
No accident. The red particles are item 6 the rubber sleeve that have perished.
I opened up the shock absorber and once split open i found that this sleeve was completely failed.

Now i get your point. I guess it must have been previously which is a bit worrying, however, i have had the car for nearly 3 years now and its fine.

Looked it up and its exactly my issue, the top mount has failed and also the rubber insulator ring has also perished.
