<div>I'm thinking of purchasing a small onboard handheld fire extinguisher for my F. I have experience of using the different types of extinguisher on different classes of fires, Halon was always the winner, however not so for the ozone layer! I had a quick browse round 'tinternet and found the following...</div><div> </div><div>http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006BU1JVM/ref=gno_cart_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3SU58XNZKFSIV</div><div>Bit of a toy maybe?</div><div> </div><div>Have been looking at the Lifeline products as well:</div><div>http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lifeline-Hand-Held-MSA-Compliant-Rally-Motorsport-Fire-Extinguisher-1-75-Litre-/400564408695?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item5d437fd177</div><div> </div><div>Or...possible gas, new one to me:</div><div>http://www.f-e-v.co.uk/product/fesg1000rhh/</div><div> </div><div>As far as tyre gauges go...I use one on my footpump and the TPMS, and the one on the F-Types' inflator, they all read different!</div><div>I was looking at these:</div><div>http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0016WMCH0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A1HVFGS3RZAE8D</div><div> </div><div>Any thoughts or views?</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>

Hi Tel,<br><br>Looks as though the Halon extinguishers are still available for aircraft. Take a look at the following link:-<br><br>http://www.flightstore.co.uk/pilot-supplies-c1/halon-1211-aircraft-fire-extinguisher-1-3-lb-0-567-kg-p1114?gclid=CO6m8NTxmMECFbHHtAodZgEArQ%3Fgclid%3DCO6m8NTxmMECFbHHtAodZgEArQ#1292<br><br>Not sure if you have to prove you are a pilot to get one but I would imagine that being an F-Type pilot would qualify.<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /><br><br>I can vouch for the stuff from AP MotorStore - just had a delivery from them this morning as it happens. They are based up here in Mirfield and ship well packaged, quality stuff so the tyre gauge will be well up to the job.<br><br>Regards.<br><br>Scoobydoo<br>

Blimey - your reply came through whilst I was editing!<div> </div><div>Thanks for that. I did look at the aircraft ones, but thought it would be a ball ache trying to get one...The site mentions 'Recommended for a 1-4 person aircraft, including the pilot.' I think the F falls in that category</div><div> </div><div>Ships also flood their engine rooms with huge tanks of Halon. That would be unsightly bolted onto the car!</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for the top tip on AP.</div>

You can get Argonite in the place of Halon, which is ozone friendly, but Halon is still available for professional use only, not public sale.
