Collected on Saturday. Base (Poverty?!) V6 in Caldera Red, with Parking, Visibility packs, keyless entry, heated seats/steering wheel, cruise, folding mirrors, meridian 380w, red seat belts. I intended it as a GT, motorway cruiser between Oxford and the Lakes with fun to be had on the twisties in the Lakes mainly.

First impressions after 600 miles- amazing balance on corners, engine is going to be a lot of fun when run in, lovely feel to brakes, base seats are great, especially with heating through the fabric. So far I like the cave like cockpit feeling without panoramic roof/black interior, like the design of the base 18" wheels but have already fitted a set of 20" Turbines with winter tyres (need to get them the other way round eventually, interestingly the ride seems about the same but perhaps that that's the softer compound on the winter tyres).

Minuses: Meridien is underwhelming, probably rattling, will have to get that sorted; ambient lighting on the central grab bar is not working (should be blue on the base model?), MY17 media is still not really up to scratch

Questions:

1) I have paired an iphone 6 plus but don't get sound when connecting- should this be working over Bluetooth alone or with it plugged into the USB (I was using a non standard cable so will find an Apple one and try again when I get time), or both?

2) lower seatbelt anchors were loose on delivery- i finger tightened the drivers one (!) but cant get at the passenger one which is rattling around. Should these be fully tightened rigid or should there be some play in them? Bit alarming if this got past quality control.

3) the passenger seat doesn't seem to move forward and backwards as much as the drivers seat- perhaps only 4 inches or so- can't see an obstruction but surely it ought to move more than that?

4) Found a small nut on the floor behind the passenger seat- something missing a nut!?

These irritants (on a £60k list vehicle!) can hopefully easily be sorted, will have words with dealer.

Another thing is that when I test drove the V6S the front skirt scraped slightly on my driveway which is sloping- I was going to get it re graded with gravel to prevent this, didn't get round to it, but find that the new car doesn't scrape at all. Either the suspension is slightly higher on the base (non active) suspension, or the skirts have been raised a bit- anyone have any idea about this as a matter of curiosity?

I paired my iPhone5 fine with mine, have you tried to adjust the volume with the phone? I know how you feel with the irritants, in time you will have them sorted out, in the interim enjoy the F-Type, truly an awesome sports car and hats off to Jaguar for finally coming up with a gem of a car.
