FINALLY placed my order

It took me over 6 months to do the 2 k run in, and we were told do not use the dynamic mode until run in, which we stuck to, but once it rolled over the majgic number it was like having a new car all over again, massive smiles, enjoy the run in its epic anyway and then you'll enjoy sport mode even more.

Collected on Saturday. Base (Poverty?!) V6 in Caldera Red, with Parking, Visibility packs, keyless entry, heated seats/steering wheel, cruise, folding mirrors, meridian 380w, red seat belts. I intended it as a GT, motorway cruiser between Oxford and the Lakes with fun to be had on the twisties in the Lakes mainly.<div><br></div><div>First impressions after 600 miles- amazing balance on corners, engine is going to be a lot of fun when run in, lovely feel to brakes, base seats are great, especially with heating through the fabric. So far I like the cave like cockpit feeling without panoramic roof/black interior, like the design of the base 18" wheels but have already fitted a set of 20" Turbines with winter tyres (need to get them the other way round eventually, interestingly the ride seems about the same but perhaps that that's the softer compound on the winter tyres<span style="line-height: 1.4;">).</span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;">Minuses: Meridien is underwhelming, probably rattling, will have to get that sorted; ambient lighting on </span>the <span style="line-height: 1.4;">central grab bar is not working (should be blue on </span>the<span style="line-height: 1.4;"> base model?), MY17 media is still not really up to scratch </span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;"><br></span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;">Questions: </span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;">1) I have paired an iphone 6 plus but don't get sound when connecting- should this be working over Bluetooth alone or with it plugged into the USB (I was using a non standard cable so will find an Apple one and try again when I get time), or both?</span></div><div><span style="line-height: 1.4;">2) lower seatbelt anchors were loose on delivery- i finger tightened the drivers one (!) but cant get at the passenger one which is rattling around. Should have said, best thing of all? Those 007 push button flaps at the top to summon emergency services- need to get them wired to a couple of machine guns sticking out of the grille methinks.<div><br></div><div>Jaguar really knows how to bring out the little boy in one!</div>

I have the convertible...the ejector seat option is a must, will come in handy for back seat, in this case front seat, drivers.<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" />

<div><br></div><div>I paired my iPhone5 fine with mine, have you tried to adjust the volume with the phone? I know how you feel with the irritants, in time you will have them sorted out, in the interim enjoy the F-Type, truly an awesome sports car and hats off to Jaguar for finally coming up with a gem of a car.</div>

Thanks Joemax,<div><br></div><div>Yes, hopefully these are just minor issues. I can only compare with a Z4 3.0i Sport I had, and although it was probably as fast, nice engine etc. it had no soul- at all. This car definitely has that in spades.</div><div><br></div><div>Talking of ejector seats, my wife hasn't been in it yet...perhaps the spare nut I found is for the Coupe floor dispatch system...</div>

<div><br></div><div>...oh dear, not very pleasant Yousif, as the wife or your passenger will get deafened to death as they pass the exhaust underneath.<img src="http://www.ftypeforums.co.uk/images/converted_files/smileys/smiley36.gif" border="0" alt="LOL" title="LOL" /></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

Timing could not be worse.<div><br>Car turned up and then I got made redundant - didn't see that coming.</div><div>Absolutely gutted, but spoke with the dealer and they are going to try and hold the car for me until I've got another job lined up and then it'll be first on my shopping list!</div><div><br></div><div>Just going to make it all the more sweeter when I take delivery I think, having overcome so many hurdles to live the dream!</div>

Yousif Wrote<strong></strong><br /><br />Another thing is that when I test drove the V6S the front skirt scraped slightly on my driveway which is sloping- I was going to get it re graded with gravel to prevent this, didn't get round to it, but find that the new car doesn't scrape at all. Either the suspension is slightly higher on the base (non active) suspension, or the skirts have been raised a bit- anyone have any idea about this as a matter of curiosity?<br /><br /><br />The 20inch wheels raise the car by just a few millimetres so maybe that's the reason as the V6S comes with 19 inch as standard. Anyway, it's good news that the car clears the driveway ok.

Really sorry to hear that SammyV6S. The same thought crossed my mind when I took delivery last Saturday- what if I lose my job now? Hope you find a job quickly and can start enjoyed a well earned car...

Thanks scoobydoo,<br /><br />Well the 18" Vela wheels didn't scrape either but perhaps they are also slightly higher than the 19s on the V6S. Anyway I'm not complaining, would have looked a bit silly if I couldn't get the new car up the driveway!

Sorry Sammy about your unfortunate situation, wish you the very best to get reemployed again so you can drive your dream very soon.

So sorry for you Sammy. Best of luck with the search for a new job.<div> </div><div>When everything finally comes together, it will all be that much better.</div>

Thanks guys<br /><br />I think when I find a new job I'll give them a couple of weeks start date and then go pickup the car and take a trip somewhere :)
