Buying advice

Hi I'm a prospective owner, and doing some research while looking to buy. A couple of questions:

If a car has MOT advisory for rear subframe corrosion "but not seriously weakened" would you walk away?

I'm looking at early cars - 2013/14. Should I consider cars that have not had the coolant Y pipe replaced?

Thanks for any help.

Sadly, I fear that a lot of F-Types will have that advisory so I wouldn't let that be a show-stopper.

If the Y pipe hasn't been done just factor getting it done into the price you're paying.

couple of hundred pounds should sort it, take off 3 bits that are boled on, shot blast and powder coat, job done

I’d be careful here as it depends on what is actually rusted.
If it’s the cross braces which is a common issue then they can easily be removed, treated and refitted. If it the other components then a potential issue.
I’d want to be underneath inspecting it before purchasing.

Mine’s a 2013 on 60k+ without a change to the coolant pipes and have no plans of doing it unless needed. Just beware forums only show issues and they can appear to be common, so to me not even a buying consideration
