Here whats I've done to stop water getting onto the heads and in the vee, Have used EPDM roofing rubber sheet bonded to the underside of the engine cover to deflect water away from the heads, also re-routed the coolant bleed hose as the water was tracking down this and finding its way onto the top edge of the rocker cover.

Jonm,
Do you happen to have a template for cutting the rubber to attach to the engine cover?

A couple of points to add after reading this thread....

Vents - The bonnet vents are relocated forward towards the nose on the later cars because of the engine block is positioned higher, not because of water ingress.
Open mesh vents obviously let water in, shrouded ones a lot less so.

Corrosion - Any photos showing Aluminium oxidation at lower points than that of the Supercharger (in earlier posts show as very aggressive oxidisation ) and none on top of SC, is caused by coolant leaks (vapour or fluid) and not by water ingress from vents. Usually eminiating from the Water pump, Thermostat and/or plastic interconnecting hoses. The caveat to that, is for cars that are parked 'nose-upwards' on an incline or those parked one side lower than the other, repeatedly.

Fuel Injectors- If you can source fuel ("Esso Synergy Supreme+ 99 contains zero ethanol"* then this will be better overall.
Failing that, it's important to keep the injectors from "gumming up"...a damn good thrash when everything's up to temperature is very good for this.

No, Just used a larger piece than needed and trimmed it down in-situ.

Thanks for posting this.

Even though I have the shrouded bonnet vents which don't seem to let in as much water, I still done the same today in the hope it will help prevent any future problems.
Hopefully it's sufficient enough.

Here's photos of my mods to the engine cover. I used epoxy glue which seems to be holding up ok.

Thanks for your help.

Here's an ebay link which shows some further pics of T2R17540 (sound insulation cover)...

The covers are inexpensive at a JLR main dealer as you can see in the link I provided earlier.
