XE R Sport

Dropped the F Type in on Monday for it's first service and was given an XE R Sport as a courtesy car. A big car with a two litr engine, thought it would be a bit slow and wallowing but I was very wrong! The 0-60 times on paper look a bit disappointing but I am sure it is a lot quicker, and the way it handles was pleasantly surprising. My wife wants to change her TT later in the year for another one but we are not too sure on the latest model, we are seriously thinking about an XE. The salesman offered us one with 15% discount but only on the diesel so we declined, definitely food for thought though.
Steve.

go for the XE S ...

Thanks jimbobc, that is the model we would be interested in. Will give that some thought. 😀
Steve,

We've also got an XE. Even though it's only the R-Sport 200ps, every time I drive it I'm always amazed at how rapid it feels. Only problem is I find it so comfortable and quiet it's like driving a bed on wheels and I start feeling sleepy! Very nice drive and handles beautifully. Two recommendations, get the 14 way seats (really comfortable and elevate the ambience of the car) and upgrade the sound system (the standard one is only just about acceptable).
Not worried about the sound system, will never use it. We like music but not in the car. My wife loves he TT, so we went to see a mk3 today but it just didn't feel right. Seating position too high and the only colour interiors they offer is black, nearly black or red. We like red but it restricts the choice of body colour so it will probably be an XE. Will be used though winter so will wait until the new engine comes out with AWD.
Steve.
