Sadly my original windscreen was hit by a stone from a passing ambulance, right in the driver vision zone. Damage 11mm across so replacement required (though I couldn’t have lived with a repair there). Autoglass replaced it under the car insurance but I got a Fuyao screen instead of the OEM Pilkington. OEM Screen is heated and IR reflective and so apparently is the Fuyao. I’d never heard of them before. Has anyone here any good/bad experience with these screens?
I must say that when I got my car I thought the IR reflective screen was a gimmick but in the recent hot weather it has been a lifesaver - the difference in cabin temperature is astonishing. I just hope the Fuyao coating delivers the same performance as the Pilkington. One other thing to note if your screen has to be replaced that if you have the front facing cameras the car has to go to an Autoglass workshop for the replacement as the cameras have to have their alignment checked. I guess the other screen replacement companies will be the same.
