Wind noise coupe

Hi there

Is wind noise normal at motorway speeds?
At 70mph and over I am getting wind noise right behind my head to the right which is quite annoying, car is a coupe.

If it was at 100mph I could understand but at 70mph it is pretty annoying, anything I can adjust or look at to fix, yes could take it to a dealership but would rather just learn and fix it myself.

No noticable noise on mine but have read quite a lot about door alignment issues on this forum .may be a small a just ment on door or window

Ah interesting, I’m getting the same, pax side too also.
Will mention it at first service in a couple of weeks. Tried Gummi pflege on the seals but to no avail.

Mine too. I am meeting the service manager tomorrow to try and get to the bottom of the problem. I will report back if he finds a solution.

I have this now, they did change my drivers window due scratches, hope to get it sorted at a service I have coming up

Regarding my visit to the dealer regarding the wind noise. The service manager agreed it was a problem and discovered the quarter light was misaligned. He showed me the adjustment which was made by removing a small plastic cover which is located inside at the far end of the window. He decided the window needed pulling in to form a tighter fit to the rubber seal and used a spanner to adjust it. I do not have any technical expertise but once it was pointed out I could see the problem. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks - I have a similar problem with wind noise so will try to check whether I have the same situation with my quarter glass.

Hi
Just bought an SVR......which has an irritating wind noise on the drivers side. Anything over about 50 to 55 mph. It becomes intrusive to the extent I couldn’t hear the exhaust!

Did the fix above work?

I know it was a while ago....but if there are any updates, that would be great

I have changed my car now, but sadly although I took the 360 back to the dealer a couple of time it was not solved to my satisfaction.

Wind noise should not be a problem on the F-type. I have driven mine on German autobahn at speeds over 250 km/h for longer distances, and never experienced any wind noise. It is some noise at high speeds, but mostly noise from wheels and engine - and surpricingly little, compared to other cars I have driven at high speeds.

Thanks all
I’ll pick it up with the local Jag dealership in Milton Keynes. Hope it doesn’t become an issue!

Wind noise is pretty bad on mine at 60-80 mph - right behind my shoulder. Tuned it out/ turn the radio up these days - my Z4M coupe had wind noise as well, just can't remember if it was as bad/ noticeable.

Drove the car down to the south of Bordeaux last year, it wasn't persistent or loud enough to be an issue on that trip. It feels like it comes and goes, or I just notice it when driving without music and with little gusto.

Hi All.

I have a brand new 2023 R75 with only 600 miles on the clock and the wind noise from the doors has been insane from around 50 mph upwards. Marshall Jaguar Peterborough have attempted and failed THREE times to repair the problem, making it worse each time.
Window resets and new door seals and a refitting of the door resulted in chipped paint, a damaged door card and a wet interior thanks to leaking windows!
I am gutted that this one thing has ruined my dream car that I've saved a lifetime to own.
Has anyone found a solution to it yet?

I'd be thinking of rejecting the car. Other folk on here have done so. Put "reject" in the search box for others' experiences.

I rejected the car within 30 days (partial pcp) and they attempted to fix the issue 3 times and now saying they dont acknowledge any fault and that the wind noise is "within manufacturers tolerance" and therefore wont accept my rejection. I addition Black Horse who provides the Jaguar Financial Services PCP are saying if the dealer says no fault then they accept whats being said!

So Im stuck!

The car is under warranty. Contact Jaguar Customer Care and open a complaint and a case but I presume you have driven another R to compare??

I driven others, they do still have wind noise but much quieter than mine

Jaguar customer services arent interested, they told me because part of car under PCP I needed to deal with Black Horse!

I think the adjustment I leaned would be worth a try. It did reduce the noise slightly, but it was still noticable. I have had 2 F types since then and both were fine.

Hi

What was the adjustment you tried? The dealer has now put on a new seal, adjusted the door and window, but its worse.

Ive recorded the noise but dont know how to upload to this forum post

Side Emblem R75.jpgHi all, I’m looking for the exact factory placement measurements for the side “Coupe” emblem on a 2024 Jaguar F-Type Coupe (X152). Specifically, I need the distance from the front wheel arch and from the bottom edge of the fender so I can reinstall it accurately. The reason I’m asking is because I recently had paint protection film (PPF) installed, and the shop had to remove the emblem to apply the film properly. I’ve attached a photo with the emblem location marked using a red arrow and box for reference. If anyone has measurements, a placement guide, or a photo with a ruler for scale, I’d really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance!
