Where does the towing eye live in a convertible ?

Hi guys.

I recently bought myself a P300 dynamic convertible, I am so happy with it and I am just now starting to sort little bits out.

I have a 3.0s coupe and to be honest I don't like it, I have had it two years and I hardly ever drive it because it is too loud, uncomfortable, harsh and fast. Funny that because fast is good but this has been touched by Urban and I don't know what they done to it but it is dangerous in the wet so it has to go - anyway, The P300 is so superior if you want a good driving car that doesn't want to kill you. I love it and it is headed for the Stevio pass and SC500 soon.

So, whilst checking it out I find the tow eye, but I cant find the home for it, I have searched youtube, google and even this forum, but as soon as you put in towing eye you are told about where to put it and not where it lives. Right now I have tucked it in with the tire kit bag, but it can live there surely ?

The Jaguar workshop manual says it lives under the boot luggage compartment, but if it lives there then I am also missing the bit that holds it in place because I cant see how. I have read here that some cars don't come with the eye, that doesn't make sense to me, but ...

Can someone show a picture of where it lives in case I am missing something, or a detailed explanation of where it lives.

I guess finally I should ask if anyone is up for a Stevio run :)

Here you go, moulded location point alongside battery.

Thanks guys.

Mike M, - scm is correct, this is for the 3.0S, ( I don't know about the others ) I know this because I have it on my 3.0S, also that Polly holder clips around the bar that holds the battery in, the P300 doesn't have a bar, it has a flat steel bracket that couldn't possibly hold the Polly part.

Also, on the 3.0S the battery is located to the left, sitting in-line to the car as shown in the picture above, the P300 has the battery transverse, laying against the rear panel nearest the bumper.

I refuse to believe that Jaguar didn't make a home for this part on the P300, So, in accordance with my CDO I am going to resolve this quandary.

I have just had my wheels diamond cut and new boots fitted, once these wheel are back on I will do some pictures.

Now to find out why this car doesn't have a CD player.

Thank you Jem.

Story of my life, I don't have that flap, nor the 12 volt outlet and I had to look twice.

Mine is a 2018 P300, and it is more loaded than my 2015 3.0S coupe, so it isn't a cheap seats version.
So why did they delete that position from the 2014 3.0S and not make a replacement ?

I feel a trip to Jaguar might be in order.

I struggle to believe that JLR don’t have a dedicated point to securely hold the towing eye in all models and years. Odd to just remove it and leave it floating around.
Mine’s an early roadster so as per prior posted photo under the dedicated flap along with the wheel nut.
Have you located the wheel nut as that seems a good starting point to find the towing eye location?
