As far as I can make out, second hand prices have got back to within a 'normal' range for want of a better term.

My 6 year old V6 Conv is probably worth around 30/32k.

I will probably sell it in the next year or two just for the novelty of getting something differtent. But the question is can these cars really depreciate much further ?...or will they just level off......will I look back in 5 years when they are worth the same thinking if I had kept it I might have enjoyed 5 year's depreciation free motoring ? :)

Hi.

I have the same thoughts emerging too. I have a MY19 V6 convertible which I love dearly but am being drawn to the V8 models. AutoTrader is valuing my car at around £26k with 64k miles. May I ask where you got your valuation from? Kind regards

Normally I would expect there would be further depreciation over the next 10 years, but due to the 'limited' volume I would imagine prices would then start to gradually increase. However, it depends on what the situation is in 5-10 years in terms of fuel costs / potentially increased annual tax and take up of EVs, as to whether the demand at that stage would be there for larger and thirstier ICE cars such as these.

I think the EV bubble will burst as reality starts to kick in - private cars aren't really the big problem with climate change, they don't contribute much in the overall scheme of things. It'll be decades before ICEVs are gone, if ever, EVs aren't a good second or third owner bet (10 or 20 year old EV?) so they'll potentailly be scrapped long before an ICEV become uneconomic to run. Keep your existing ICEV and save the planet by not wasting your carbon allowance on building a new EV!

Ignoring the EV situation, I'd assume that it will follow a similar trajectory to the XK8s, being broadly the same thing.

Prices for XKRs are currently similar for the same age of F-type V8s, so it's possible to see what the price might do for a car as it gets older, by looking at these.

The unknown is what governments might do to ICE cars, in the way of higher taxes and penalties., which could limit demand if it gets very expensive. But then the depreciation on EVs is horrific and unlikely to get better as changing battery technology will make existing models undesirable too (might be cheaper overall to run a V8)

WBAC is about 28.5, and private sale looks to be up to 32/33 on casual review of auto trader

33k miles
