What size wheels

Good Morning
Looking to put new wheels on my 2014 f-type coupe but finding it all a little confusing. I want to fit some 20” wheels but is there a specific width for the front and rear. Mine are currently 19” on the front with 245 tyres and 275 on the rear. I’d like to fit 20” 255 on the front and 20” 295 on the rear, will these fit my model ???.
Thanks
Steve

The simple answer is yes.

All of the F type wheels are interchangeable, with three exceptions.

The wheels from the SVR and R575 have a different offset, as the rear axle is wider on these cars. You can fit them but spacers are needed, to bring the wheels out, otherwise your car will look like a Hymer camper van.

Going up in wheel size is no problem. However going down to say 18s depends on the brakes fitted to the car, as smaller wheels won't go over the larger calipers.

Also cars with carbon ceramic brakes also have limited wheel choices, due to the width of the calipers/disks and the hub faces.

That s good to know. I never knew that of the SVR and R575. Is that the same with a P450 AWD vs R575 AWD?

The P450's have the 'standard' set up and rear axle. The rear wheel offset for these is ET38 compared to ET54 for the wider axle cars. The ET54 rear wheels will fit, but need spacers to push them out.

Hi Steve

I have 20 inch wheels on my 2019 V6 convertible. I run 265/35 ZR 20 on the front and 305/30 ZR 20 on the rears. These are the next size up from the original spec tyres that came from new as I wanted to have some rim protection for my fabulous wheels. Hope that helps. Kind regards

Were your insurers okay when you told them about this change from standard spec?

They were, and thanked me for letting them know. Seems that a lot of people don’t advise them of such changes. Kind regards

Hey, thanks for all the help with this one, it’s very much appreciated..I’ll post a picture when I’ve put new wheels on.
