What have you done to your F Type today?

Went to a car meet at Ypres some nice cars there:-

I was the only F-Type there, although I do see quiet a few around.
 
Nothing too sexy, just an engine bay detailing and used gloss black paint to restore the bonnet vents. The paint had faded a bit on the top of the honeycomb edges. Quite happy with how it turned out.

thanks …. i think the f type is a good looking car but the 458 is def a future classic in the making if not one already
 
Busy weekend while the wife was away. Started of with a Smarttop install on my MY18 P300. All good and works a treat. Then it was off to a car & coffee meet at The Motorist near York. Today was wash car and then install upgraded speakers in the doors. Finished in time for another drive to the Landmark cafe on the Lincolnshire Wolds for a spot of lunch. Knackered now and the wife is back so my petrol head weekend comes to an end.

Very productive weekend! I am wanting to upgrade my door speakers - have you gone for the B&W premium speakers and if so did you find them on eBay? The woofers are so hard to source second hand.
 
Went for a 33 mile drive to put some charge into the TCU battery so my journey logging works again.
 
I had my P450 at Viezu and had the Predator upgrade done absolutely awesome the figures are Incredible I've been driving Jags for 20 odd years a X-TYPE 3 Litre estate 2 XJ'S 3 litre 1 a XJ SPORT a beautiful white XF Portfolio 3 litre estate 2 F-TYPE R's and now this P 450 along with my 3 litre F-PACE , the guys at VIEZU have made this P 450 an absolute beast 670 BHP 960 NM a whole new exhaust, upper pulley,lower crank,K'N filters belts,,ecu ,cooling system the list Is endless but the end result Is truly staggering I can honestly say If you have a 5 litre power plant and want a upgrade don't hesitate get the PREDATOR upgrade done I haven't stopped smiling since I got It back It's a bright red with the black pack I had It ceramic coated the other day wheels too which are black and It looks amazing I'm now going to see what the can do with my F-PACE and I must add the fuel consumption was unbelievable I drove it home with a stop off at Warrington to see my brother had a drive around and gave him a go then drove home to 28 miles north off Glasgow with just under a quarter of a tank left so just over 400 miles and sitting a 90 most of the way with the odd experiment with the power etc.

It’s been a couple of years since I travelled that road, so have missed its opening. I’m just wondering who it’s aiming its product at - the caravanners, or car enthusiast?
Shame about its restrictive dog policy, though?

By contrast, we called for Sunday Roast at The Fairfax Arms, Gilling East which seems to have an eclectic link to some interesting motors. It also happily encourages dogs, too.
 
Installed the “Claws Out” mod today - fuse tap/wireless switch that allows fuse 15 to be controlled via a wireless fob in the car. Works really well - press A on the fob to disable the fuse and B to enable. Now have complete control over the noise the exhaust makes effectively having 3 modes with valves fully open when wanted.

Your right the 8" Premium door woofers are like rocking horse droppings. I went with the B&W 'Premier' range and brought 6.5" door base speakers. I then made speaker adapters out of 6mm Perspex. The Tweeters and Mids were as those recommended on various websites.

If you can't find the 8" door sub woofers at a decent price then you could try a pair of Audison AP8 speakers . I believe they bolt straight in and are probably better than the Jaguar stuff.

20240507_191036.jpgTreated it to a bottle of Ceratec (engine friction reduction/anti-wear additive) and gave it a rinseless wash after getting back from work while the weather is nice.

Lowered the windows and drove most of the way home enjoying the soundtrack and the first proper sunny commute since I bought the car on Boxing Day. It was epic!

It's interesting how a 30-min drive can easily become over an hour long on the F-type! 😉
