What cars did you have before the F-type?

I did over 100k in both the integra type r and the accord type r, bullet proof reliablity and great fun to drive.

Like a few people here i feel the f type r is close spiritual successor to the v8 TVR.

Company cars:-
Ford Fiesta 950 Pop Plus (E239 EVL - exciting times for a 20 year old)
Ford Orion 1.4L
Austin Maestro (changed jobs and inherited - shocking!)
Vauxhall Astra 1.4L
Vauxhall Astra Si Saloon (not the Belmont)
Ford Escort 1.4GL
Citroen Xantia 1.9D (changed jobs and inherited - shocking!)
Peugeot 405 Style (changed jobs and it had no style!)
Peugeot 306 Sedan TD
Peugeot 306 Hatch Meridian
Ford Mondeo
Ford Mondeo
Vauxhall Vectra
Peugeot 406
Ford Mondeo Titanium
BMW 320D Sport
Audio A5 Black Edition
BMW 320D M Sport

If you’re still awake, my personal cars:-

VW Beetle (first car owned at 18 years old, hankering after another one now)
TVR Cerbera Mk2 4.5 (24 years after the VW)
TVR Tamora (cost £13k, spent £25k on it, only broke down once in 9 years)
F Type V8S (2014 RWD, now modded to just under 600bhp, good fun!)

Jaguar Mk X (pedal car by Triang!)
Triumph Herald 13/60 convertible :D
Vauxhall Chevette :(
Ford Fiesta 1.4S :D
Mazda MX-5 (mk1) :D
VW Vento :(
Seat Toledo :|
Mazda 3 Fastback (2014 on) :D

Just seven cars in 42 years surprises me. Well, it's the 42 years since buying the Herald which is the real shock!

Hmm good thread. Here’s mine (in probably the wrong order):

VW Golf 1.4
Brand New Ford Fiesta
Orange Rover Mini Cooper 1.3mpi
Skoda Fabia heap of junk
Red Rover Mini Cooper Sport 500
VW T4 Camper
Toyota Corolla
Toyota Corolla (£400, but utterly bomb proof)
Volvo V50 (flipped upside down)
VW T4 Camper (self converted)
Saab 900se
Fiat Panda 100hp (possibly my favourite after the current F-Type)
Jaguar XE
F-Type V8

Plus a few bikes along the way, my favourite of which was a ‘99 Triumph Daytona - which I converted to a cafe racer

Jags I’ve had in order of ownership
XJS V12 convertible (a great first jag that replaced a Metro!)
S-type 3.0 manual
X308 XJR
X350 XJR
XFR 2009
XFR 2013
F-Pace SVR (still have)
F-type SVR (still have)

Others include original 1997 Elise and Caterham 7 - had the 7 for over 10 years, fantastic weekend car

So, my car journey started in 1985:
Ford escort mk2 1.3 ghia
TR7
TR7 convertible
MG Montego (bought one of the company cars from work, and it was plastic not fantastic)
Then had a few years where on the side I used to buy from auction, clean up and sell so had dozens I can’t remember but those I can:
Citroen AX GT (lot of fun)
Ford escorts of various type
Ford Orion ghia
Citroen ZX volcane
Citroen ZX (can’t recall the spec)
Mazda 323 GT
Peugeot 405 (rubbish)
Ford sierra
Ford fiesta
Renault 5 GT turbo ( absolutely spotless unmolested low mileage example I wish I’d kept)
Then family came along and it was:
VW sharan
Mercedes E class 320cdi avantgarde estate with 7 seats (kept that 12 years from nearly new and it was faultless)
Peugeot 207 GT for commuting
Citroen DS3 for commuting
BMW 320d m sport touring
BMW Z4 2.5si convertible (still have this)
Jaguar F type P380 AWD convertible (still have this)
Currently looking at options for a sensible ‘other’ car but can’t make my mind up on petrol or full EV

The ones I can remember are:

Escort MK2 Estate- first car!
Escort Mk1 1300xl
Cavalier SportsHatch
Metro Turbo Mk1
Lotus Excel 2.2
Peugeot 205 xs
Capri 2.0
Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6
Nissan 200sx Turbo
Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo
BMW 645 4.4 v8
F Tyoe v6s - current daily

Good discussion!

Honda S2000
BMW Z4 Coupe

BMW Z4 Coupe (again)
Jaguar XF 3.0 V6 Diesel
Mercedes CLK V6 Diesel

Porsche Cayman S 981
Ftype V8 p450

From the golf R I've also had a second family car in addition to the above:

Alfa Romeo Giulietta
Suzuki Vitara Sport
Tesla Model 3 Performance

So now I have the Tesla and the FType which I think is quite a complementary garage.

Interesting to look at these lists with the same models either we have been luckily enough to drive or admired from afar. Also indicates the varied range of age on this forum!

Thanks, they were very nice, albeit not the most practical - I think I may have a thing for red though, that I wasn't aware off. The bikes and now the Jag :) .
