Well... I've done it

Hi all!

After years of "looking" and one failed attempt in 2021 (I was persuaded to buy an F-Type priced kitchen instead! Nice kitchen though) I've finally found and bought (but not yet collected) a blue V6 convertible with ivory interior. Everything I was looking for.

I can't wait to collect it.

My face hurts from smiling!

Good practice for when you drive it! Welcome aboard. :)

Thanks scm. Fingers crossed that will be Thursday although the snow predicted for these parts might scupper my only free slot this week! Probably still be smiling though.

Not the best weather for a convertible - I can understand your excitement having only recently purchased my car - congratulations!

Or if it's like our car, when cold and frosty you can't open the doors and when you eventually do so they won't shut. Spoke to dealer about it last week but unless they can experience it won't do anything. Of course by the time you've driven to the dealer everything is ok ...

Standard Jaguar behaviour, I'm afraid. It's happened on my previous 2001 XK8, 2004 XKR and 2010 XKR. It's not happened on the F-Type yet as I've never tried to use it when it's frozen up. I've found you can get the doors to close if you slam them hard enough, enough times. ;)

That's because the windows are frozen and they need to drop about an inch for the door to open. Same thing applies to the closure, the door closes and the window goes up. The window can freeze against the hood and against the rubber strip at the bottom of the window. Gummi pfleg will help.

My wife's mini with frameless doors does the same. Gummi Pflege works (a bit) on that too. Oh well, that won't be the only compromise I don't think. (Sorry that sounded a bit like "I don't care...I just bought an F-Type" :D )

The snow relented for just long enough and, although it was flippin' freezin' the blue skies were a perfect backdrop....I've got it!

And my face is sore!

Still!

OMG ... Turns out this was the right thing to do. I think I'm still dreaming....it's hard to tell.

Indeed, It's a rare sight in Dark Sapphire Metallic. Beautiful colour combination with the ivory interior.
I'm down South. Think you are more North I believe.
Enjoy the ride!
Mike
