Water in boot, convertible

Hi,

I've got a 2016 convertible and just discovered water collecting under the boot carpet.



I did some forum/internet searching and most threads point to checking drain holes.

I've poured a jug of water through the roof drain hole both sides, the boot drain hole, and also around the boot water channel.

Each time, it poured out correctly from under they car. So they don't look to be blocked or even restricted.

Having dried the boot and discovered it filled back up a couple of times, and pulling some of the carpet up, I 'think' it's coming from to the higher area each side and towards the front.

There is water under each of these polystyrene blocks.

It looks to be dry towards the back of the boot/car. And wet under the blocks and towards the front.

Any ideas anyone? Before it corrodes all my electrics. (Why do all vehicle manufacturers put electronics right where their cars leak )

A few people have found the rubber seals around the hatch area allow water in.

That link is for the coupe (ironically, it seems to leak more than the convertible), and seems to only mention leaks unique to the coup and it's boot shape.

I've done loads of searching on the forum, Google and facebook.
Mostly the answers are convertible roof drains. I've checked those. And boot drain and I've checked that.

So wondering if someone can point me at something specific to the area my water seems to be coming in?

I think I've checked the drains correctly, but, for example, if someone can say, that area is definitely the roof drains, or definitely the boot drain, I can revisit them, maybe I've checked them incorrectly?

Or maybe someone knows another area to check, such as rear light seals, then I can put the effort I to stripping more of the car apart.

I had this before with me 2013 convertible. Turns out the drainage holes were blocked. It ended up costing me a new roof motor and mechanism arm from a main dealer. I'd get it looked at as soon as you can before the motor ends up sitting in a pool of water.

Does it sounds like I've checked the drain holes incorrectly then?

As said, I've poured water through them, and it pours out the bottom of the car right away.

I did the same unfortunately, but when I took it to Jag the explanation they gave was "Drain holes blocked" so I can't be sure. It left me baffled, as like you said you tested them and it's draining. Sorry I can't assist any more. I know how frustrating it is.

I guess if they then unblocked them properly and it didn't happen again, then it must have been that.

I'll look at them again.
I'll have to fine a better way to get a good look at the area.
I'll dig out my old endoscope maybe.
