but if the car came with an aftermarket warranty, they will expect you to use it in a case like this which involves a simple repair.

I don't mind trying to get it repaired under warranty and I included the emissions add-on. But if they say its not covered, I'm confident the dealer will sort it.

Garages don't like to pay - they prefer customer, JLR or warranty to stump up.

I hear you scm. But as long as its a minor issue and quickly repaired, i dont mind if it's done under warranty or by the dealer - as long as its not at my cost.

Update.

Well done to those who suspected a failed o2 sensor. It was (bank 2, sensor 3).

Warrantywise have agreed to pick up the diagnostic costs, parts and labour.

There was a limit to the max hourly rate for the diagnostics, so I end up paying the small difference. But a good outcome.

Had my annual service done while it was in, and no other issues. Next stop, Highlands on Saturday.
