Warnings after changing steering wheel

Hi

So I recently changed my steering wheel to a flat bottom. The donor wheel was from same model year and model. The wheel works fine but now I get…

E-Diff Not Available and Adaptive Dynamics Fault warnings on dash. Dynamic mode and DSC not working too.

Any ideas? I think it may need a steering sensor recalibration - not sure how you do that?? I tried full left / right lock but no joy?

Any ideas good folk of the F-Type forum?

Did you change your steering button packs from new back to old.
That would be my first port of call as was the cause of issues until I did so and for others too.

Issue i found when i changed mine is the steering wheel needs to be central. Did you mark it when taking it off and replace it to the same markers.
Mine was off Centre a bit and so took it off and moved it round the splines to a def central position.

Hi

The “new” wheel came with switches, as these were from same model year and model I used those rather than swap with my original switches. I also made the change to a heated wheel so need to keep the right switch for the button and I added the contact module for that.

WRT to the alignment, yes the position was exactly as the old wheel. I made sure the spline was spot on.

I had this on my previous F-Type, turned out that whilst I'd perfectly aligned the steering wheels, the clock spring had spun causing all the warnings. Steering was also quite heavy.

Once I realigned everything was good. No need to even reset the codes, went away by themselves.

This was the thread that helped me.

Turns out the clockspring wasn’t actually centered when it looked like it was, it needed 1 more full rotation to get back into position. No lights or issues now and enjoying my suede steering wheel.

Many thanks all and @scz4 top man you had the wining answer. Took me 2 goes but re-centring the clock spring has solved all the issues - amazing - thank you so much!

And as you say cleared all the errors without needing to recalibrating the SAS. I’m over the moon, cheers! Dave
