Collected my car back today after another week without it... its had the vacuum pump bypass done.. soon as i got in the car it smelt so bad..like someone had put a 2 week old mouldy egg sarnie in the glove box.. drove back with windows all the way down... smell was ok... wound windows up and within 2 mins the smell was back... thoughts? Seems odd i have had exhaust work done and now it smells like a faulty cat convertor..

If it doesn't rain, it pours....That's not acceptable Steve.
Wishing you good luck for your next trip to the dealer.
Just been rang by dealer , apparently they had a car battery explode in their workshop on another customers car that totally stunk the place out .. If I go back to the dealer they can put a "scent bomb" in my car to return it to its fresh state... think ill just try leave the windows open when its not raining to sort the issue and spray some air freshner in their as its a good 90 min round trip to the dealer. Would have though that if they had that problem they would have either at least told me, or maybe freshened my car up before returning it to me

Hi Steveo35,

Hope it wasn't a lead acid battery and your car was in the workshop at the time. The acid in those things is very corrosive. As you say, they should have cleared the pong before returning your car to you.

Blimey, you really are having NO luck at all with your Jag ownership! Sorry to hear, hope the pong clears up!

Going over to dealer to get it deodorized... I ring them today to say it still stinks , "yeah we can fit you in on the 18th to get it sorted , we have a lot of customers booked in for work at the moment"

unreal.. a problem that they created I have to wait a proposed 9 days before they can fit me in to sort.

If I caused an issue to one of my customers like this I would be getting it sorted as a top priority (and my average sale is £300 items not £60k items !!)

A bit of moaning (basically saying that the car should not have even been given back to me) and now I'm going in this Monday morning... 3 hours of my Monday morning gone at my inconvenience

No luck getting jag to comp you a new one yet? Both your dealer and car are clearly a crok :( Maybe we should start a 'give Steve a new car' petition!

It's not just the car the stinks! If they had any concept of customer service, it should be profuse apologies and collection and delivery of the car!

But as you have to waste time with another trip to the dealership, I'd ask the dealer principal if my dog had did a huge crap in his office and stunk it out, would it be reasonable if I didn't own up to it and when challenged I responded that I couldn't clear it up for 9 days because I'm a bit busy!

Someone's not doing their job properly here in ensuring high standards are kept. As Alan Sugar would say.......your xxxxx...........or needs to be!
Jag have offered me a "good will figure" towards a replacement car.. the problem is that because it has to go through a dealer ,and guess what.. the good will figure with the insulting price ive been offered for mine doesn't even get me like-like replacement...

It is getting a joke to be honest.. I am still in the process of speaking to jaguar HQ to get this sorted..

Hi Steve,

You shouldn't be out of pocket given the issues you have already endured. May I suggest engaging with a good member of the legal profession as it would appear as though they could help. It's sad but in today's world a writ is often the only way to obtain the required result.

Good luck in getting a satisfactory resolution.

Tell them to f..k themselves and they'll be hearing from your lawyer. Totally agree with Scoobydoo's suggestion.
