V8S Collection on Tuesday

Shunt

New member
Hi, another new member here and I cannot wait. I'm collecting the V8S on Tuesday and leaving my old V8V with them, it just felt old and tired in comparison to this thing.

And the noise................ I'd tried a standard car and wasn't overimpressed with the performance but the V8 is a whole different thing. Did I say I cannot wait! Just a few sleepless nights left.
Welcome! The V8 is more than quick enough for me - and more than noisy enough for my neighbours! It'll seem ages til Tuesday but it will be worth the wait

Welcome Shunt.
....Patience is a virtue (so i'm told), but having to wait for your F-Type....well....that's taking patience to a whole new level !
Ah the waiting is torture. Especially once you've seen your car. I went in to sign the paperwork for mine on a Thursday to be ready for the Saturday collection and my car was parked up waiting. Couldn't miss it sat there on the forecourt. I was soooo hard to walk away and wait for another 2 days.
The torture is almost over, not much sleeping for me tonight and some idiot arranged a meeting until 1pm tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow's cold snap won't hit until later. Can't wait....
Patience Magatron. You can't expect someone whose bought a stunner to spend a single second on the internet. What would we think of him?

What can I say - I'm a sucker for F-type pics. Hope the OP has had better weather than here for his handover drive!

Wow you lot are keen. To say I'm pleased is a mild understatement. Although it was a bit of a handful on the way into work this morning, with all that low down torque and cold wet roads it made things a bit interesting!

I was quite sad to see my old Vantage go after so many years together but this thing is a world away from that. So much nicer to drive and feels much more up to date. I have an M135i that I use as a daily I'm thinking that might change now.

Anyway here's some pictures to prove it did happen, shame it doesn't have powerfold mirrors as getting it in the garage was a bit tight, but at least it does fit!

Oh..I like that
Nice! What colour is that? It looks black in the outdoor photos but purple in the garage! Either way it looks great!

Great looking F-Type ...

I'm guessing its black metallic and that's why under garage lighting it gives of the purple impression.

Take it easy on these cold roads and enjoy

Ref the garage, I'm not sure Id be comfortable with the bike hanging over my nice new F-Type ... hope its well secured!

regards, Paul

Cheers, yes it's metallic black and could probably do with detailing new year when the weather gets better. I have bought a load of new cleaning kit for it to revitalise my old OCD!

And yes I was surprised by the lack of grip this morning, it can be a handful in the wet but nothing I've not coped with before, well maybe a bit more horses this time.........

As for the hanging bikes, yes they are very secure as I have history in this dept. A 2 week old Z4M Coupe had a full shelf of tools and paint fall on it when the powered garage door dragged it off the wall onto the car. That's a mistake you don't make twice!

Looking forward to getting to know this car, although I did notice you don't get let in / out of junctions the same way you did in the Aston. But hey ho a small price to pay.....

That's interesting as I've found the exact opposite ... but then I haven't stepped out of an Aston ...

Nice pics - thanks for that. I actually used snow/ice mode this morning and it still felt skittish.

Try coming from a Porsche - it's actually nice to be let out at junctions for a change!
